Claptone
Claptone is a German DJ and producer duo which specializes in house and tech house genres. They are recognizable by their plague doctor-style golden masks, which serve to intrigue the public as well as keeping their identities hidden. It was widely believed that Claptone is a single person, but after the public realized that Claptone often performed at three venues at once, the rumor started to spread that Claptone was three individuals. Claptone has performed at iconic venues including Hï Ibiza (formally Space), Pacha and Tomorrowland. Life and career Claptone gained recognition in 2013 with the song "No Eyes" featuring JAW, from the electronic act dOP. Different Recordings
Different Recordings is an electronic music label owned by the PIAS, an international independent music company. After a three year hiatus, the label returned in 2015 with a family of new signings from Claptone, Anna of the North, Vessels, KLLO, Infinity Ink and Denney. The label looks to champion a fresh crop of forward thinking, electronic artists. It was launched during the emergence of the French house scene and over the years has represented a broad range of electronic music with releases by artists such as Etienne de Crecy, Alex Gopher, Alan Braxe, Tiga, The Hacker, Felix Da Housecat, MSTRKRFT, Crystal Castles and Vitalic. Peter Bjorn And John
Peter Bjorn and John are a Swedish indie pop/rock band formed in Stockholm in 1999, named after the first names of the band's members: Peter Morén (vocals, guitar and harmonica), Björn Yttling (bass guitar, keyboards and vocals) and John Eriksson, known in his solo work as Hortlax Cobra (drums, percussion and vocals). Yttling also worked as producer for the band's first four albums. ''Liquid Spirit'' is the third studio album by American jazz musician Gregory Porter. It was released through Blue Note Records on September 2, 2013. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album in 2014. The record also produced six singles. Coachella Festival
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly called the Coachella Festival or simply Coachella) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was co-founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999, and is organized by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Presents. Gregory Porter
Gregory Porter (born November 4, 1971) is an American singer, songwriter and actor. He has twice won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album: first in 2014 for ''Liquid Spirit'' and then again in 2017 for ''Take Me to the Alley''. A mask is an object normally worn on the face, typically for protection, disguise, performance, or entertainment and often they have been employed for rituals and rights. Masks have been used since antiquity for both ceremonial and practical purposes, as well as in the performing arts and for entertainment. Plague Doctor
A plague doctor was a physician who treated victims of bubonic plague during epidemics mainly in the 16th and 17th centuries. These physicians were hired by cities to treat infected patients regardless of income, especially the poor that could not afford to pay. Plague doctors had a mixed reputation, with some citizens seeing their presence as a warning to leave the area or that death was near. Some plague doctors were said to charge patients and their families additional fees for special treatments or false cures. In many cases these doctors were not experienced physicians or surgeons, instead being volunteers, second-rate doctors, or young doctors just starting a career. In one case, a plague doctor was a fruit salesman before his employment as a physician. Plague doctors rarely cured patients, instead serving to record death tolls and the number of infected people for demographic purposes.
