Claes Tornberg
Rear Admiral Claes Egmont Tornberg (born 10 February 1936) is a retired Swedish Navy officer. He served as Commander-in-Chief of the Coastal Fleet from 1985 and 1990 and as head of the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College from 1990 to 1996 and the newly created Swedish National Defence College from 1997 to 1998. Early life Tornberg was born on 10 February 1936 in Västerås Parish, Sweden, the son of colonel Egmont Tornberg and his wife Aina (née Setterborg). He passed ''studentexamen'' at Södra Latin in Stockholm on 7 May 1955. Career Tornberg graduated from the Royal Swedish Naval Academy in September 1958. He underwent a staff course at the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College between 1966 and 1968, and attended the Naval War College in the United States from 1976 to 1977. Västerås ( , , ) is a city in central Sweden on the shore of Mälaren, Lake Mälaren in the province of Västmanland, west of Stockholm. Admiral Bror Per Harald Stefenson (4 September 1929 – 3 October 2018) was a Swedish Navy officer. Stefenson's senior commands include Chief of the Defence Staff and military commander of the Eastern Military District (Milo Ö) as well as Commandant General in Stockholm. Major General Evert Karl Erik Båge (25 August 1925 – 21 January 2021) was a Swedish Air Force officer. Båge served as Chief of the Air Staff from 1980 to 1984 and as head of the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College from 1984 to 1990. Early life Båge was born on 25 August 1925 in Alingsås Parish, Älvsborg County, Sweden, the son of Erik Båge, a repairer, and his wife Selma. Båge passed ''studentexamen'' in 1945. Career Båge graduated from the Swedish Air Force Flying School in 1948 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in Svea Wing. Rear Admiral Sten Gustaf Ivar Swedlund (13 March 1937 – 14 July 2014) was a Swedish Navy officer. Swedlund's senior commands include as commander of the South Coast Naval Base from 1987 to 1990 and Chief of the Coastal Fleet from 1990 to 1994. After retiring from the military, Swedlund became involved in the Red Cross's international aid activities in Yugoslavia, North Korea and Iraq during the Iraq War.
