The Civil Democratic Movement (also called the National Civil Movement) is a liberal political movement formed in Egypt in 2017. The current alliance includes various parties that were also involved in the Civil Democratic Current; namely, the Constitution Party, the Dignity Party, Socialist Popular Alliance Party, Egyptian Social Democratic Party and the Bread and Freedom Party. Bread And Freedom Party
The Bread and Freedom Party ( ar, حزب العيش والحرية; '' Hizb AlEish WaAlHorria''), also translated as the Bread and Liberty Party, is a democratic socialist party in Egypt created by former members of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party. The party is not registered as of 10 February 2014. 280 members from the Socialist Popular Alliance Party gave their resignations in early November 2013, though the resignations were rejected by Abdel Ghafar Shukr, the head of the party. The resigning members criticized their former party for aligning itself with the military during the transitional period and defending the actions of the police. The Reform and Development Party ( ar, حزب الأصلاح و التنمية ''Hizb Al-Islah wa Al-Tanmiyah'') is a liberal political party in Egypt. It was founded after the Egyptian Revolution of 2011 by a group of people from different movements that led to the revolution including the April 6 Youth Movement, the National Association for Change and Kefaya. 2020 Egyptian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Egypt on 24–25 October and 7–8 November 2020 to elect the House of Representatives. Date The elections were initially expected to be held in April or May 2020. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi ordered parliament to freeze its activities on 1 October 2019 and placed the National Security Agency (NSA) in charge of creating lists of candidates as the General Intelligence Directorate (GID) had not satisfactorily selected candidates in the previous election.
