2022 Major League Baseball Season
The 2022 Major League Baseball season (MLB) was originally scheduled to begin on March 31 and end on October 2. The 2021–22 MLB lockout caused the season to be delayed by one week, starting on April 7. The regular season ended on October 5. On March 10, 2022, MLB and the MLBPA reached a deal on a five-year CBA, with Opening Day being held on April 7 (delayed from its originally-planned March 31), and a full 162-game schedule played. Under the new CBA, universal designated hitter was adopted, and the postseason was expanded to 12 teams. Third Jersey
A third jersey, alternative jersey, third kit, third sweater or alternative uniform is a jersey or uniform that a sports team can wear instead of its home outfit or its away outfit during games, often when the colors of two competing teams' other uniforms are too similar to contrast easily. In truth, there is never a need for a third jersey in a two-team game. One team can wear its home or normal colours, and the other its away or substitute colours: by definition the latter cannot clash with the former. (Leaving only the remote possibility that each team's away jersey is so similar, by accident' that the home team may be confused to see the away team in colours that it occasionally plays in. But that is a risk in any case for the away team seeing the home team in colours not unlike those the away team normally wears.) Alternative jerseys are thus primarily a lucrative means for professional sports organizations to generate revenue, by sales to fans. Of North American sports l ...

Area Code 414
Area code 414 is a telephone area code of the North American Numbering Plan for the area around and including the city of Milwaukee in the state of Wisconsin. The area code was created in October 1947, along with area code 715, as one of the two original area codes assigned to Wisconsin. The numbering plan area (NPA) originally included most of the southern and northeastern parts of Wisconsin, stretching from Lake Michigan to the Minnesota and Iowa borders. 715, then as now, covered the remaining northwestern part. The numbering plan area was first split in 1955, when much of the western portion, including Madison, received area code 608. This configuration remained in place until July 26, 1997, when the northern half of NPA 414, including Green Bay and the Fox River Valley, became numbering plan area 920. The creation of 920 was intended as a long-term solution, but within a year 414 was close to exhaustion once again due to the proliferation of cell phones and pagers. In 199 ...
