City Center District, Dallas
The City Center District is an area in north-central downtown Dallas, Texas (USA). It lies south of the Arts District, north of the Main Street District, northwest of Deep Ellum, southwest of Bryan Place and east of the West End Historic District. The district contains a large concentration of downtown commercial space which prior to 1950 had been concentrated along Main Street. The district also contains remnants of Theatre Row, the historical entertainment area along Elm Street which contained theatres such as the Majestic Theatre. Thanksgiving Tower
Santander Tower is a 50-story, skyscraper at 1601 Elm Street adjacent to Thanks-Giving Square in downtown Dallas Texas. At its completion in 1982, it was the second tallest building in Dallas, surpassing Elm Place. One year later, with the completion of 1700 Pacific, it became the third tallest, and it is currently the 8th-tallest building in the city. The building is connected to the Dallas Pedestrian Network and the Bullington Truck Terminal. Santander Tower is owned and managed by Woods Capital, and it was designed by the architecture firm HKS Architects. Formerly known as the Thanks-Giving Tower, it was renamed in 2020 after Banco Santander. One Dallas Center (formerly Patriot Tower) is a modernist skyscraper located in the City Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas, completed in 1979. Chase Tower (Dallas)
Chase Tower is a , 55-story postmodern skyscraper at 2200 Ross Avenue in the City Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas. Although it is the fourth tallest skyscraper in the city, if one were to exclude antennas and spires, it would be the third. It is also the 12th tallest building in Texas. The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and was completed in 1987. The building also houses the Dallas Petroleum Club, a business and social club located on the 39th and 40th floors. This building is known for its unique architecture which includes a curved glass top and a 6-story hole in the center of the building near the top and is nicknamed the "Keyhole Building" by some people. The Harwood Center is an American skyscraper at 1999 Bryan Street in Dallas, Texas. The building rises 483 feet (147 m). It contains 36 floors, and was completed in 1982. Harwood Center currently stands as the 21st-tallest building in the city. The architectural firm who designed the building was WZMH Architects, the firm who designed the CN Tower in Toronto. Fidelity Union Tower
Mosaic Dallas, formerly Fidelity Union Life Insurance Building, is a residential development in the City Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas, United States, adjacent to Thanks-giving Square. The complex is located at 300 North Akard Street, across the street from DART's Akard Station, which serves its , and light rail lines. History The building was originally home to the Fidelity Union Life Insurance Company.
