Ciro Pessoa
Ciro Pessoa Mendes Corrêa (12 June 1957 – 5 May 2020), also known by his Dharma name Tenzin Chöpel, was a Brazilian singer-songwriter, lyricist, guitarist, screenwriter, journalist and poet, famous for being one of the founding members of the influential rock band Titãs and for his later work with pioneering post-punk/gothic rock band Cabine C. He also formed numerous other short-lived and lesser known projects throughout the early to mid-1990s before beginning a solo career in 2003. Early life and education Ciro Pessoa was born in São Paulo on 12 June 1957. When he was seven years old, he learned how to play the classical guitar. At the age of 12, he began to perform in music festivals around the city. As a teenager, he studied at the Colégio Equipe, where he would meet Arnaldo Antunes, Paulo Miklos, Nando Reis, Marcelo Fromer, Branco Mello, Tony Bellotto and Sérgio Britto. Ibirapuera Auditorium
The Ibirapuera Auditorium ( pt, Auditório Ibirapuera) is a building conceived by Oscar Niemeyer for the presentation of musical spectacles, situated in Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo. History The auditorium completes the group of buildings in Ibirapuera park, as designed originally by the architect in the 1950s. Compared to the original proposal it is lacking only the access square that would separate it from the Oca, which would serve as the main entrance to the park. At the 2008 Latin Grammy Awards the Brazilian Field awards were presented at the Ibirapuera Auditorium. Tony Bellotto
Antonio Carlos Liberalli Bellotto (; born June 30, 1960) is a Brazilian musician and writer, best known as the lead guitarist of Brazilian rock band Titãs. He has also written and released several books. Childhood Bellotto spent his childhood in the city of Assis, São Paulo. He decided to be a rock guitarist when he was a child. After hearing Jimi Hendrix albums, he composed his first songs on the guitar, while he explored other notable guitarists, like Keith Richards, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. Luiz Schiavon
RPM ("Revoluções por Minuto", "Revolutions per minute", in Brazilian Portuguese) is a Brazilian pop rock band. It was formed in 1983 by singer/bassist Paulo Ricardo, keyboardist Luiz Schiavon, guitarist Fernando Deluqui and drummer Paulo Antônio "P.A." Pagni. History RPM played soft techno-pop with strong, paradoxical influences from progressive rock and European synthpop. Their lyrics were pessimistic and ironic, and full of literary allusions to the likes of Arthur Rimbaud, Surrealism and Christiane F., and political references. ''Fósforos de Oxford'' (Portuguese for ''Matches from Oxford'') is the only album by Brazilian post-punk band Cabine C. It was released in 1986 by RPM Discos, which was founded by Paulo Ricardo and Luiz Schiavon of RPM. It was the only album to be released by the label, which closed in 1987 after RPM's first break-up. Most of the album's lyrics are based on works by Edgar Allan Poe; for example, "Pânico e Solidão" was based on his 1838 novel ''The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket'', and "A Queda do Solar de Usher" shares its name with Poe's eponymous 1839 short story. The album was never re-released in CD form, and is very rare and difficult to obtain; however, it is available for free download on Ciro Pessoa's official SoundCloud page, and the track "Tão Perto" was included in the 2005 compilation of Brazilian post-punk music ''The Sexual Life of the Savages''. Mercenárias (Portuguese language, Portuguese for "Mercenaries"), sometimes erroneously referred to as As Mercenárias, are a Brazilian all-female band, all-female rock band formed in São Paulo in 1982, by bassist Sandra Coutinho, vocalist Rosália Munhoz and guitarist Ana Machado. Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It has its roots in African-American gospel music and rhythm and blues. Charles de Souza Gavin (born July 9, 1960) is a Brazilian drummer and music producer, perhaps best known for his 25-year tenure with rock band Titãs. Before Titãs, he had brief stints at Ira! and RPM. Early life and first works At age 8, his friends invited him to participate on the September 7 ( Brazil's Independence Day) festival. The problem was the absence of decent percussion instruments. So, the school decided to improvise these with kitchen utensils.
