Circus Roncalli
Circus Roncalli is a German professional circus founded in 1976 by and André Heller. According to Paul, the name was suggested by fellow Austrian and his film script ''Sarah Roncalli, Tochter des Mondes'' arah Roncalli, Daughter of the Moon named after Pope John XXIII whose civil name was Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli. Paul and Heller agreed because of its pleasant sound and the pope's reform agenda. History The first performance of the circus was on 18 May 1976 on the ''Hofgartenwiese'' in Bonn, and the tour finished on 16 August 1976 in Munich. After the first season, Paul and Heller disagreed about the concept and rights, so that at a future performance on 4 June 1980 in Cologne, Bernhard Paul directed the circus on his own. André Heller
Franz André Heller (; born 22 March 1947 as Francis Charles Georges Jean André Heller-Hueart) is an Austrian artist, author, poet, singer, songwriter and actor. Biography Heller was born in Vienna into a wealthy Jewish family of sweets manufacturers, Gustav & Wilhelm Heller. His parents were Stephan Heller (1895–1958) and Elisabeth Heller (1914–2018). He visited Café Hawelka almost daily. It was in this coffeehouse that he met many men of letters including Friedrich Torberg, H. C. Artmann, and occasionally Elias Canetti, as well as Hans Weigel, and Helmut Qualtinger, with whom he later on collaborated and performed. He took acting classes from Hans Weigel and his cohabitee Elfriede Ott. Theatre, radio, television, songs Heller has been writing prose, poetry, and songs since 1964. Mülheim, Cologne
Mülheim ( ; ) is a borough ('' Stadtbezirk'') of Cologne in Germany and a formerly independent town (''Mülheim am Rhein''). Heinz Baumann (priest)
Heinz Hubert Baumann (11 December 1946 – 24 April 2010) was a German Roman-Catholic priest in Aachen. Life Heinz Baumann grew up as the first son of August and Agnes Baumann in Jülich- and attended the humanities-oriented gymnasium . There he came into contact with the teachings of Francis de Sales and early on developed the desire to become a priest. After graduating in 1966, he studied philosophy and theology in Bonn and Tübingen under Hans Küng and Joseph Ratzinger and was ordained as a priest on 17 June 1972 in Krefeld. Eckart Witzigmann is an Austrian chef. After his chef-apprenticeship in the Hotel Straubinger in Bad Gastein (1957–60), Witzigmann moved on to numerous positions in prestigious restaurants around the world, among others as a student of Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France. His work in Germany began in 1970 at the Munich restaurant ''Tantris'' designed by the architect Justus Dahinden. Tempodrom
The Tempodrom (also referred to as Neues Tempodrom) is a multi-purpose event venue in Berlin. Founded by Irene Moessinger, it opened in 1980 next to the Berlin Wall on the west side of Potsdamer Platz, housed in a large circus tent. After several changes of location it is now housed in a permanent building in the Kreuzberg neighborhood. History Moessinger had recently become a nurse when she came into an 800,000 Deutsche Mark, mark inheritance from her father; it was this bequest that she used to start the Tempodrom in a circus tent.
