Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (stylized as CineMark from 1998 to 2022 and CINEMARK since 2022) is an American movie theater chain that started operations in 1984 and since then it has operated theaters with hundreds of locations throughout the Americas and in Taiwan. It is headquartered in Plano, Texas, in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Cinemark is a leader in the theatrical exhibition industry with 521 theatres and 5,855 screens in the U.S. and Latin America as of June 30, 2022. It is the largest movie theatre chain in Brazil, with a 30 percent market share. Front Row Joe
Front Row Joe is an animated anthropomorphic cat developed as the mascot for the American movie theater chain Cinemark Theatres in 1988. The mascot was created by the now-defunct animation studio Wilming Reams Animation in San Antonio, Texas. He appeared in policy trailers and advertisements until he was retired in 1998 when Cinemark rebranded to an Art Deco design. The mascot returned in 2004 for Cinemark's 20th anniversary, and again in 2018. He no longer appears in policy trailers, but still does appear in promotional advertisements and special events. Plitt Theatres was a major movie theater chain in the United States and went under a number of names, Publix Theaters Corporation, Paramount Publix Corporation, United Paramount Theatres, American Broadcasting-Paramount Theatres and ABC Theatres and operated a number of theater circuits under various names.
