Cincinnati Pride
The Cincinnati Pride Parade and Festival is a week-long celebration of the city's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other identities ( GBTQ+ community. The festivities are typically held annually at the end of June but have happened as early as April and as late as July in various locations of Cincinnati, Ohio. Parade Cincinnati Pride started in 1973. In 2018, the event had approximately 120,000 attendees. The pride parade serves as the anchor event. The event has corporate and non-profit sponsors, including presenting sponsor Delta Air Lines, as well as others including P&G, US Bank, Fifth Third Bank, The Kroger Co., and TriHealth. Various LGBT and affinity groups are involved, too, including Human Rights Campaign, PFLAG, GLSEN, Dykes on Bikes, Imperial Court System, and various BDSM groups. The International Imperial Court System (IICS) also known as the International Court System is one of the oldest and largest LGBT organizations in the world. Stonewall Inn
The Stonewall Inn, often shortened to Stonewall, is a gay bar and recreational tavern in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City, and the site of the Stonewall riots of 1969, which is widely considered to be the single most important event leading to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights in the United States. The original Inn, which operated between 1967 and 1969, was located at 51–53 Christopher Street, between Seventh Avenue South and Waverly Place. The Stonewall Inn in New York went out of business shortly after the uprising and was leased as two separate spaces to a number of different businesses over the years. Cincinnati Art Museum
The Cincinnati Art Museum is an art museum in the Eden Park neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1881, it was the first purpose-built art museum west of the Alleghenies, and is one of the oldest in the United States. Its collection of over 67,000 works spanning 6,000 years of human history make it one of the most comprehensive collections in the Midwest. Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman's Cove
Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman's Cove are a pair of side-by-side parks on the riverfront of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. The two linear parks stretch one mile along the north shore of the Ohio River. Since 2012, the parks have been the location for the annual Bunbury Music Festival. Yeatman's Cove Yeatman's Cove park occupies the former site of a tavern established in 1793 by Griffin Yeatman. Yeatman's establishment was the first tavern in Cincinnati, and as such was very popular with men working on the river. The park features a colossal bronze statue of Cincinnatus, the namesake of Cincinnati, and is a popular place to watch the Cincinnati Bell/WEBN Riverfest at Labor Day weekend.
