Church Of The Holy Angels, Hoar Cross
The Church of the Holy Angels is an Anglican church in Hoar Cross, Staffordshire, England. It is a Grade I listed building. History It was built by the pious Anglo-Catholic, Emily Charlotte Meynell Ingram (sister of Charles Wood, 2nd Viscount Halifax) in memory of Hugo Francis Meynell Ingram who died in May 1871. The architects were George Frederick Bodley and Thomas Garner. Work started in 1872 and the church dedication took place on 22 April 1876. Further extension and additions took place until the church achieved its present form in 1906. John Betjeman described the church as "the masterpiece of its late Victorian architect G.F. Bodley" and "great architecture; original, well massed, well sited, well detailed; very English". Hoar Cross
Hoar Cross is a small village and civil parish in the Borough of East Staffordshire, situated approximately west of Burton upon Trent. History Hoarcross, as it was then called, was enclosed like the nearby Chartley Park from Needwood Forest. Unlike Chartley Park, Hoarcross survived without significant development. Today it is surrounded by agricultural land, still nestled in the hills of the ancient Needwood Forest (now part of the National Forest) but now become a notably affluent part of the East Staffordshire borough. The eight extensive ornate partitioned gardens of Hoar Cross Hall once rivalled those of nearby Trentham, and maintained an extensive staff of gardeners in the early decades of the 20th century. The Bishop of Ebbsfleet is a suffragan bishop who fulfils the role of a provincial episcopal visitor in the Church of England. From its creation in 1994 to 2022, the Bishop of Ebbsfleet served traditionist Anglo-Catholic parishes that could not accept the ordination of women as priests and bishops. From 2023, the bishop will serve conservative evangelical parishes that reject the ordination and/or leadership of women due to complementarian beliefs. Bangor Cathedral ( cy, Eglwys Gadeiriol Bangor) is a cathedral in Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales. It is dedicated to its founder, Saint Deiniol. The site of the present building of Bangor Cathedral has been in use as a place of Christian worship since the sixth century. Samuel Green (1740–1796) was an English organ builder. Green learnt his art under the elder John Byfield, Richard Bridge Richard Bridge or Bridges (died 1758) was a leading English organ-builder of the eighteenth century. In 1748 (according to the ''Morning Advertiser'' of 20 February) he was living in Hand Court, Holborn, London.
