Chung Yong-hwan
Chung Yong-hwan (Hangul: 정용환, 10 February 1960 – 7 June 2015) was a South Korean football player and manager. Chung was a one-club man who spent all his professional career in K League side Daewoo Royals. He played for South Korea in 1986 and 1990 FIFA World Cup, and also captained in 1990. He died of stomach cancer on 7 June 2015. Style of play Chung did not have great height, but he was noted for his jumping ability. He did not lose aerial duels against a 1.97 m forward Rob Landsbergen. His fast reaction and good sense of balance also made his defensive skills accurately. Jeong is a Latin alphabet rendition of the Korean family name "정", also often spelled Chung, Jung, Joung or Jong. As of the South Korean census of 2015, there were 2,407,601 people by this name in South Korea or 4.84% of the population. The Korean family name "정" is mainly derived from three homophonous hanja. K-League 1986
The 1986 Korean Football Festival was the fourth season of the top football league in South Korea. Six teams participated in this season. Five of them were professional teams (Yukong Elephants, Daewoo Royals, POSCO Atoms, Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso and Hyundai Horang-i) and one was a semi-professional team ( Hanil Bank). Hallelujah FC, the first South Korean first professional football club, changed its status to a semi-professional club and withdrew from the league afterwards. Sangmu FC, run by the Army also withdrew, leaving Hanil Bank as the only semi-professional team in the league. It began on 2 March and ended on 16 November. It consisted of two stages and winners of each stage qualify for the championship playoffs. AFC Champions League
The AFC Champions League (abbreviated as ACL) is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation, and contested by Asia's top-division football clubs. Busan I'Park
Busan IPark ( ko, 부산 아이파크) is a South Korean professional football club based in Busan that competes in K League 2, the second tier of the South Korean football pyramid. Its current home ground is Busan Gudeok Stadium. The club was one of the original five founding members of the K League and continuously competed in the first division from 1983 to 2015, when they were relegated for the first time. Rob Landsbergen
Rob Landsbergen (25 February 1960 – 29 September 2022) was a Dutch footballer who played as a forward for PSV Eindhoven and South Korean Hyundai Horangi. He was the first Dutch football player to play for a Korean club. Landsbergen died from complications of Alzheimer's disease on 29 September 2022, at the age of 62. Stomach Cancer
Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, is a cancer that develops from the lining of the stomach. Most cases of stomach cancers are gastric carcinomas, which can be divided into a number of subtypes, including gastric adenocarcinomas. The 1990 FIFA World Cup was the 14th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was held from 8 June to 8 July 1990 in Italy, the second country to host the event for a second time (the first being Mexico in 1986). The 1986 FIFA World Cup was the 13th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was played in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June 1986. The tournament was the second to feature a 24-team format. Colombia had been originally chosen to host the competition by FIFA but, largely due to economic reasons, was not able to do so, and resigned in 1982. Mexico was selected as the new host in May 1983, and became the first country to host the World Cup more than once, after previously hosting in 1970.
