Chumki Chowdhury
Chumki Choudhury is an Indian actress who works in Bengali cinema. Family and Career Chumki Choudhury was born in Kolkata. She is the daughter of famous director Anjan Choudhury and Smt. Joysree Choudhury. She passed her Madhyamik from Joysree Siksha Niketan and completed her Higher Secondary and B.A. from New Alipore College. Chumki Choudhury made her acting debut under the direction of her father called Hirak Jayanti as a lead actress. The film was released in 1990. After doing several films of her father, she could not earn her reputation in the Bengali film industry. In 1991, the people started knowing her after acting in Babloo Samaddar’s film called ‘Abhagini’. Chumki Chaudhury took her primary lessons in dance and music from her mother Joysree Choudhury and later on from Bani Debnath. She was involved with stage shows professionally. Anjan Choudhury
Anjan Choudhury (25 November 1944 – 21 February 2007) was an Indian film director, writer, and screenplay writer who worked in the Bengali cinema of West Bengal. He was survived by his wife Jaysree Choudhury and two daughters, namely Chumki Chowdhury (elder) and Rina Choudhury, and son. His elder son in law is named Sajal. His son Sandip Choudhury is a T.V. serial and film director. His daughter in law Bidisha Choudhury is also a film actress. Santan ( child) is a 1999 Indian Bengali film directed by Anjan Choudhury. Plot The film explores the relationship between three sons and their parents. After marriage, the three sons and their wives make the parents and the sister mere servants. Once, one of the children brought one of his colleagues to live in the room in which their parents stayed and asked the parents to sleep on the staircase in the house. The person realised this and was proud to think of their parents as his parents. He made a plan and told the three sons that his father possesses 1.5 lakh rupees and will give it to the child who takes the maximum care of their parents.
