Christos Saloustros
Christos "Chris" Saloustros (Greek: Χρήστος Σαλούστρος; born March 29, 1990) is a Greek professional basketball player for PAOK of the Greek Basket League. He is a 2.02 m (6 ft 7 in) tall small forward. Professional career Saloustros played with the youth teams of Filathlitikos, and then with the senior men's team of Filathlitikos, in the Greek lower minor league divisions. He played with Filathlitikos in the Greek 4th Division, in the 2010–11 season, and in the Greek 3rd Division, in the 2011–12 season. Saloustros then started his pro career with Filathlitikos, in the Greek 2nd Division, in the 2012–13 season. He then moved to the top-tier level Greek League club Panionios, where he also played in the EuroCup. He joined the Greek EuroCup club PAOK, in 2014. Promitheas Patras B.C. (Greek: Προμηθέας Πατρών K.A.E.) is a Greek professional basketball club that is based in Patras, Greece. The club currently competes in the Greek Basket League and the EuroCup. It is Patras' prominent basketball club. The basketball club is the main part of the Greek multi-sports club A.S. The Greek B Basket League, or Greek B Basketball League (Greek: Ελληνική Β Μπασκετ Λιγκ), is a national basketball league in Greece. It is also known as the Second National Championship, B National Championship, Second National League, B National League, Third Division, and in Greek, (Βήτα Εθνική καλαθοσφαίρισης) (Beta Ethniki Basketball). 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualification (Europe)
The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Europe region, began in August 2017 and concluded in February 2019. Contrary to previous years, no teams were automatically placed into the World Cup, so all FIBA Europe nations had to participate in qualification. Format FIBA Europe was allocated 12 berths at the World Cup. In total, 37 FIBA Europe teams took part in the qualification tournament. The qualification consisted of the following stages: * Pre-Qualifiers: 13 teams that did not participate in EuroBasket 2017 took part. Eight teams had qualified for the first round. Greek National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece took part the in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice; while also coming away with one silver ( 1989) as well as two bronze medals (1949, 2009). The Basketball Champions League (BCL) is an annual professional basketball competition for European clubs, organised by FIBA. It is the top-level competition organised by FIBA Europe, therefore the champion participates in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
