Christophe Soulé
Christophe Soulé (born 1951) is a French mathematician working in arithmetic geometry. Education Soulé started his studies in 1970 at École Normale Supérieure in Paris. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Paris in 1979 under the supervision of Max Karoubi and Roger Godement, with a dissertation titled ''K-Théorie des anneaux d'entiers de corps de nombres et cohomologie étale''. Awards and recognition In 1979, he was awarded a CNRS Bronze Medal. He received the Prix J. Ponti in 1985 and the Prize Ampère in 1993. Since 2001, he is member of the French Academy of Sciences. In 1983, he was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Warsaw. Mathematical Research Institute Of Oberwolfach
The Oberwolfach Research Institute for Mathematics (german: Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach) is a center for mathematical research in Oberwolfach, Germany. It was founded by mathematician Wilhelm Süss in 1944. It organizes weekly workshops on diverse topics where mathematicians and scientists from all over the world come to do collaborative research. The Institute is a member of the Leibniz Association, funded mainly by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and by the state of Baden-Württemberg. It also receives substantial funding from the ''Friends of Oberwolfach'' foundation, from the ''Oberwolfach Foundation'' and from numerous donors. Prix J
Prix was an American power pop band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1975 by Tommy Hoehn and Jon Tiven. The group ended up primarily as a studio project. Its recordings were produced by Tiven along with former Big Star member Chris Bell, who also played guitar and sang backup vocals. Prix is also famous of Banjo playing. Alex Chilton also participated in the recordings, along with session drummer Hilly Michaels. Although the group generated some major record label interest—notably from Mercury Records and Columbia/CBS Records—it ultimately only released a double A-side single on Ork Records in 1977 and a single on Miracle Records in 1978. Its only live performance came at a CBS Records showcase in 1976. In 1977, just as Ork Records released the first single and booked the group at CBGB, Prix broke up due both to Hoehn's unwillingness to remain in New York and to creative differences. Dan Abramovich
Dan Abramovich, born in Haifa, is a mathematician working in the fields of algebraic geometry and arithmetic geometry. As of 2019, he holds the title of L. Herbert Ballou University Professor at Brown University, and he is an Elected Fellow of the American Mathematical Society. Career Abramovich received the bachelor's degree at Tel Aviv University in 1987 and completed the doctorate at Harvard University in 1991 under Joe Harris (''Subvarieties of abelian varieties and of Jacobians of curves''). From 1991 to 1994 he was Moore Instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Thereafter he held faculty positions at Boston University from 1994 to 1999 and since 2003 has been Professor at Brown University.
