Christmas In My Heart (Sarah Connor Album)
''Christmas in My Heart'' is the first Christmas album and the fifth studio album by German recording artist Sarah Connor. Released by X-Cell Records on , the album features cover versions of popular Christmas tunes and original material. Connor worked with frequent collaborators Rob Tyger and Kay Denar on the album. Chart performance ''Christmas in My Heart'' peaked at number six on the Austrian, German, and Swiss Albums Chart. In 2006 after a baby break Sarah decided to reissue "Christmas in my heart" with a new lead single "Best side of life". "The Best side of life" was featured in Coca-Cola's German Christmas promotional campaign. The single reached #4 on the German charts. The reissue didn't fare as well, however, debuting at #49 on the German charts, peaking at #25. On the same date Sarah also released a concert DVD of her performing the Christmas tunes under the same name as the album. Sarah Connor (born Sarah Marianne Corina Lewe; 13 June 1980) is a German singer and songwriter. She rose to prominence after she signed with X-Cell Records in 2000 and released her debut album ''Green Eyed Soul'' (2001) the following year. She followed it with a series of successful albums, including '' Unbelievable'' (2002), ''Key to My Soul'' (2003), '' Naughty but Nice'' (2005), '' Christmas in My Heart'' (2005), '' Soulicious'' (2007), '' Sexy as Hell'' (2008) and '' Real Love'' (2010). "White Christmas" is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. The song was written by Berlin for the 1942 musical film ''Holiday Inn''. Ralph Blane (July 26, 1914 – November 13, 1995) was an American composer, lyricist, and performer. Life and career Blane was born Ralph Uriah Hunsecker in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He attended Tulsa Central High School. He studied singing with Estelle Liebling in New York City. He began his career as a radio singer for NBC in the 1930s before turning to Broadway, where he was featured in ''New Faces of 1936'' (1936), ''Hooray for What!'' (1937), and ''Louisiana Purchase'' (1940). In 1940 he formed a vocal quartet ("The Martins") with his friend Hugh Martin which performed on radio and in nightclubs. Hugh Martin (August 11, 1914 – March 11, 2011) was an American musical theater and film composer, arranger, vocal coach, and playwright. He was best known for his score for the 1944 MGM musical ''Meet Me in St. Louis'', in which Judy Garland sang three Martin songs, "The Boy Next Door (song), The Boy Next Door," "The Trolley Song," and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." The last of these has become a Christmas season standard in the United States and around the English-speaking world.
