Christian Materialism
Some Christian theologians embrace a holistic combination of Christian theology with ''some'' ideas of (ontological) materialism, a belief that matter is a fundamental substance of the world and that mental phenomena result from matter. Historical background Throughout history, Christian thought has struggled with the ideas of flesh, world, and spirit, and their interplay in each person's salvation. Holistic
Holism () is the idea that various systems (e.g. physical, biological, social) should be viewed as wholes, not merely as a collection of parts. While his ideas had racist connotations, the modern use of the word generally refers to treating a person as an integrated whole, rather than as a collection of separate systems. Jan Smuts originally used "holism" to refer to the tendency in nature to produce wholes from the ordered grouping of unit structures.
