Christian Witness To Israel
International Mission to Jewish People (IMJP) formerly Christian Witness to Israel (CWI) is a Protestant Christian organization dedicated to the evangelisation of Jewish people. It was founded in 1976 as a merger between the International Society for Evangelisation of the Jews and the Barbican Mission to the Jews. The International Society for the Evangelisation of the Jews (IJS) was founded in 1842 as the British Society for the Propagation of the Gospel Among the Jews. It published a periodical called ''The Jewish Herald''. The Barbican Mission to the Jews (BMJ) was founded in 1879. It operated in the East End of London, and was run by Jewish Christians. BMJ was also involved in the ''Kindertransport'', including the KLM flight of January 1939, and supported the rescue of about a hundred Jewish children to England prior to World War II. Proselytization And Counter-proselytization Of Jews
A number of religious groups, particularly Christians and Muslims, are involved in proselytization of Jews: Attempts to recruit or "missionize" Jews. In response, some Jewish groups have formed counter-missionary organizations to discourage missionary and messianic groups such as Jews for Jesus from using practices that they say are deceptive. Many Christians believe in a widespread conversion of the Jews to Christianity, which they frequently consider an end-time event. Christian Zionism in the United Kingdom is a Christian ideology that sees the return of the Jews to Israel as a fulfilment of scriptural prophecy. In Christian eschatology (end-times theology), postmillennialism, or postmillenarianism, is an interpretation of chapter 20 of the Book of Revelation which sees Christ's second coming as occurring ''after'' (Latin ''post-'') the "Millennium", a Golden Age in which Christian ethics prosper. The term subsumes several similar views of the end times, and it stands in contrast to premillennialism and, to a lesser extent, amillennialism (see Summary of Christian eschatological differences). Premillennialism, in Christian eschatology, is the belief that Jesus will physically return to the Earth (the Second Coming) before the Millennialism#Christianity, Millennium, a literal thousand-year golden age of peace. Hansi Neumann Flight
The Hansi Neumann flight was the first airlift, flight to evacuate refugee children from Václav Havel Airport Prague, Prague, Czechoslovakia, to Croydon airport, Croydon, England, in January 1939, in the lead up to the Second World War. Part of the Czech kindertransport, it was completed in a Dutch Douglas aircraft of KLM, and organised by the International Mission to Jewish People, Barbican Mission to Jewish People and the British Committee for Refugees from Czechoslovakia (BCRC). Around 18 Jewish children were on the flight. News of the flight was covered by journalists and photographers at the time. A two and a half minute film was taken of the departure by Julius Jonak of Universal News.
