Christian Waaler (born 7 December 1981) is a Norwegian bandy player who currently plays in Norway as a midfielder. He was already an international player at the age of 19 and is a regular member of the Norwegian squad. He is working to promote bandy in the Philippines. Career Waaler started his career in Røa IL. Midfielder
A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Norway National Bandy Team
Norway national bandy team ( no, Norges herrelandslag i bandy) represents Norway in the sport of bandy. The country has both a men's national team and a women's national team. This article deals chiefly with the men's national team. Norway, Finland and Sweden played bandy at the Winter Olympics in Oslo in 1952. After having seen them there, the Soviet Union invited these three countries to a four nation bandy tournament in 1954. This was the first time a Soviet national bandy team met other national bandy teams. The four countries used somewhat different rules prior to this tournament, but the rules were adjusted to be the same for the future. Norway has been competing in the Bandy World Championship since the second tournament in 1961. Norway finished in second place in 1965 and in third place 1993. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures 90–110 meters by 45–65 meters – about the size of a football pitch. IF Ready
Idrettsforeningen Ready is a sports club in Vestre Aker, Oslo, Norway. The club was established on June 14, 1907 by Aage Blom Lorentzen. The football club play their home games at Gressbanen in Oslo. Gressbanen was the arena for the Norway national team before Ullevaal was constructed in 1928. Former Norwegian international Dan Eggen has played for Ready. Høvik is a suburban area in the municipality of Bærum, Viken, Norway, in the Oslo metropolitan area. Mainly a residential area, its population (2005) is 4,311.
