Christian Neureuther
Christian Neureuther (born 28 April 1949) is a former FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, World Cup Alpine skiing, alpine ski racer from Germany. Racing career Born and raised in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Neureuther specialized in the Slalom skiing, slalom and won six World Cup races and attained twenty podiums. He competed for West Germany in three Alpine skiing at the Winter Olympics, Winter Olympics (West Germany at the 1972 Winter Olympics#Alpine skiing, 1972, West Germany at the 1976 Winter Olympics#Alpine skiing, 1976, and West Germany at the 1980 Winter Olympics#Alpine skiing, 1980) and was fifth in the slalom in both Alpine skiing at the 1976 Winter Olympics – Men's slalom, 1976 and Alpine skiing at the 1980 Winter Olympics – Men's slalom, 1980. Slalom is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline, involving skiing between poles or gates. These are spaced more closely than those in giant slalom, super-G, super giant slalom and Downhill (ski competition), downhill, necessitating quicker and shorter turns.
