Christian Kühn
Christian Kühn (born 9 April 1979) is a German politician of Alliance 90/The Greens who has been serving as president of the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management (BASE) since 2024. From 2013 to 2024, Kühn was a member of the Bundestag from the state of Baden-Württemberg. In addition to his parliamentary work, he was a Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection in the coalition government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz from 2021 to 2024. Early life and career Kühn grew up in Göppingen, where he completed his high school diploma and community service and then studied political science and sociology at the University of Tübingen. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. Olaf Scholz (; born ) is a German politician who has served as the chancellor of Germany since 8 December 2021. A member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Social Democratic Party (SPD), he previously served as Vice Chancellor of Germany, Vice Chancellor under Angela Merkel and as Federal Ministry of Finance (Germany), Federal Minister of Finance from 2018 to 2021. Winfried Kretschmann
Winfried Kretschmann (born 17 May 1948) is a German politician serving as Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg since 2011. A member of the Alliance '90/Greens, he was President of the Bundesrat and ''ex officio'' deputy to the President of Germany from 2012 to 2013. He is the first member of the Greens to serve in these offices. Identifying himself as a green conservative, Kretschmann has been associated with both culturally and economically liberal policies. 2011 Baden-Württemberg State Election
The 2011 Baden-Württemberg state election was held on 27 March 2011 to elect the members of the 14th Landtag of Baden-Württemberg. The incumbent coalition government of the Christian Democratic Union and Free Democratic Party led by Minister-President Stefan Mappus lost its majority. The Greens achieved their best result in a state election up to this point at 24%, and became the second largest party in the Landtag.
