Christian Heritage School (Tyler, Texas)
Christian Heritage School is a private, coeducational, college preparatory Christian school located in Tyler, Texas. The school houses grades from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and currently has a total school enrollment of approximately 200 students. School history In the late 1970s, the evangelical Christian organization Youth With a Mission decided to establish a school for children to serve the greater Tyler, Texas area. The organization purchased a school building and site in the Dixie neighborhood of Southwest Tyler, directly behind Tyler Pounds Field Airport. The name of the school was Dixie School and had been built as a WPA project during the 1940s and had served the immediate area for almost 40 years. The building was purchased from Tyler Independent School District after TISD built the new (and current) Dixie Elementary School, roughly three miles from the old location. Morgan Wade (born July 13, 1983) is an American professional BMX rider from Tyler, Texas. He is best known for competing in the X Games. Early life Wade was born in Tyler, Texas to Sally Wade, a High School Teacher, and Lee Wade, a construction foreman. Wade was homeschooled for part of his education and attended Christian Heritage School in Tyler, Texas for part of high school where he was a striker on two of the Patriots Soccer Conference Championship teams. Tyler Independent School District is an independent school district based in Tyler, Texas (USA). In addition to serving most of Tyler, the district serves the city of Noonday and rural areas in west central Smith County. The Works Progress Administration (WPA; renamed in 1939 as the Work Projects Administration) was an American New Deal agency that employed millions of jobseekers (mostly men who were not formally educated) to carry out public works projects, including the construction of public buildings and roads.
