Christian Dierstein
Christian Dierstein (born 1965) is a German percussionist and academic teacher. He has performed internationally as a soloist and as a regular chamber music player with ensemble recherche and Trio Accanto, performing several world premieres. He has been a professor from 2001, with a focus on music beyond Europe and improvisation. Life Born in Stuttgart, Dierstein studied music with Bernhard Wulff in Freiburg im Breisgau, with Gaston Sylvestre in Paris, and with Wassilios Papadopulus in Mannheim. He received scholarships from the Studienstiftung and the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Dierstein has been the percussionist of the ensemble recherche since 1988. In 1994, he co-founded the Trio Accanto with pianist Yukiko Sugawara and saxophonist Marcus Weiss. who commissioned several new compositions. In 2012, the pianist was succeeded by Nicolas Hodges. Kölner Philharmonie
The Kölner Philharmonie is a symphonic concert hall located in Cologne, Germany. It is part of the building assemble of the Museum Ludwig and was opened in 1986. The Kölner Philharmonie is located close to the Cologne Cathedral and the Cologne Main Station. The ensemble was designed by the architects Busmann + Haberer in the 1980s. Building The concert hall The concert hall was made like an Amphitheatre, to get a close to perfect room acoustic. Therefore, there are no walls which are in parallel to each other, to produce no echo. Size and art of the padding for the seats is selected in a way, that the acoustic quieting is constant, independently of the fact if the seat is used by a person or not. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Salvatore Sciarrino
Salvatore Sciarrino (born 4 April 1947) is an Italian composer of contemporary classical music. Described as "the best-known and most performed Italian composer" of the present day, his works include ''Quaderno di strada'' (2003) and ''La porta della legge'' (2006–08). Biography A native of Palermo, the young Sciarrino was attracted to the visual arts, but began experimenting with music when he was twelve. Though he had some lessons from Antonino Titone and Turi Belfiore, he is primarily self-taught as a composer. After his classical studies and a few years of university in his home city, in 1969 he moved to Rome, where he attended Franco Evangelisti's course in electronic music at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. Morton Feldman
Morton Feldman (January 12, 1926 – September 3, 1987) was an American composer. A major figure in 20th-century classical music, Feldman was a pioneer of indeterminate music, a development associated with the experimental New York School of composers also including John Cage, Christian Wolff, and Earle Brown. Feldman's works are characterized by notational innovations that he developed to create his characteristic sound: rhythms that seem to be free and floating, pitch shadings that seem softly unfocused, a generally quiet and slowly evolving music, and recurring asymmetric patterns. The Berliner Philharmonie () is a concert hall in Berlin, Germany, and home to the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
