Chris Wills
Chris Wills (born 17 February 1978 in Folkestone, Kent) is a British gameshow contestant who was a series champion of ''Countdown'' in 2002 and a veteran of numerous other shows. ''Countdown'' Wills first appeared on ''Countdown'' on 14 January 2002, winning all eight of his heat games and becoming the #1 seed of his series, including the highest ever score in 20 years of ''Countdown'', 129, on 17 January. He beat two more contestants to reach the final where he beat Tom Hargreaves 110-67. He averaged 110 points per game. Wills was invited back to the "Champion of Champions" tournament, where he won three successive games including a score of 120 to reach the final against Graham Nash. The final was a tense, low-scoring game and he lost 79-73. Since recording this game, he has made two further appearances on ''Countdown'', against Julian Fell, the player that beat his highest ever score of 129, and against Conor Travers, the youngest ever series winner at 14 years old. Folkestone
Folkestone ( ) is a port town on the English Channel, in Kent, south-east England. The town lies on the southern edge of the North Downs at a valley between two cliffs. It was an important harbour and shipping port for most of the 19th and 20th centuries. There has been a settlement in this location since the Mesolithic era. A nunnery was founded by Eanswith, granddaughter of Æthelberht of Kent in the 7th century, who is still commemorated as part of the town's culture. ''Pointless'' is a British television quiz show produced by Banijay subsidiary Remarkable Television for the BBC. It is hosted by Alexander Armstrong. In each episode four teams of two contestants attempt to find correct but obscure answers to four rounds of general knowledge questions with the winning team eligible to compete for the show's cash jackpot. All questions used on the show are factual in nature and are asked of a panel of 100 individuals in a pre-conducted public survey. A correct answer scores one point for each survey subject who gave it and the objective is to achieve as low a score as possible. "Pointless" answers are correct responses that were not given by anyone surveyed, score zero points and are the most desirable. Cemetry Gates
"Cemetry Gates" is a 1986 song by English alternative rock band the Smiths, for their third album, ''The Queen Is Dead''. Written by Morrissey and Johnny Marr, the song centres around a guitar riff that Marr had initially thought was too uninteresting to base a song around. However, Morrissey liked it and convinced Marr that they could complete the song. Morrissey's lyrics on the song reflect his memories of walking in graveyards in Manchester and jokingly comment on plagiarism in his song lyrics. "Cemetry Gates" was released as a B-side to the band's 1986 single " Ask". It has since seen critical acclaim for Morrissey's humorous lyrics and Marr's gentle guitar line. The Smiths
The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. They comprised the singer Morrissey, the guitarist Johnny Marr, the bassist Andy Rourke and the drummer Mike Joyce. ''Mastermind'' is a British television quiz show for the BBC, currently presented by Clive Myrie.
