Chris Hunt is a British journalist, magazine editor, and author. Hunt has worked in journalism for over thirty years, most often writing about football or rock music. He was Editor of Match magazine, ''Match'' from 1993 to 2001, a period that saw the weekly title become Britain's biggest selling football magazine. Between 2001 and 2006 he was the Editor of a series of special editions of UK music magazines, ''Mojo (magazine), Mojo'', ''Q (magazine), Q'', ''Uncut (magazine), Uncut'' and ''New Musical Express'', producing themed publications on subjects such as The Beatles, U2, Kurt Cobain, Oasis (band), Oasis, punk rock and mod (subculture), mod. Corduroy (band)
Corduroy are an English four-piece acid jazz outfit based in London, formed around twins Ben Addison (drums/vocals) and Scott Addison (keyboards/vocals), who were previously in Sire Records act Boys Wonder (Scott had been guitarist with Boys Wonder, while Ben had been the lead vocalist). Joining the twins in the band are Richard Searle and guitarist Simon Nelson-Smith. Searle had been bass player with Doctor and the Medics, who topped the UK Singles Chart in 1986 with a cover version of "Spirit in the Sky". Searle had joined the Addison twins in the final incarnation of Boys Wonder, before the band gradually evolved into Corduroy in 1991, initially forming for a one-off New Year's Eve party. The self-dubbed "fabric four" primarily recorded in a film soundtrack style, and many of their tracks were instrumentals. The Moment (band)
The Moment were among the leading bands of the 1980s UK mod revival, described retrospectively by Paul Moody of the ''NME'' as "English pop music's greatest ever secret". Formed in Haverhill, Suffolk, in 1983, The Moment were fronted by the singer-songwriter, Adrian Holder, releasing a series of singles, including "In This Town" (1984), "One, Two They Fly" (1985) and "Ready To Fall" (1988). They released one album, ''The Work Gets Done'', in 1985. "Sticks And Stones", a track released on the Countdown compilation album in 1986, saw The Moment described by British music paper '' Melody Maker'' as sounding "like The Jam wanting to be The Clash". While their influences did indeed include the best of British mod and punk, they also drew their inspiration from The Beatles, northern soul and classic rock, taking their name from song "The Unguarded Moment" by Australian neo-psychedelic rock band The Church.
