Christopher Ellis Duffy (born April 20, 1980) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Milwaukee Brewers. Amateur career Duffy played baseball for two seasons at South Mountain Community College in Arizona. In , he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 43rd round of the draft, but opted to attend Arizona State University instead. At ASU in , he batted .373 with four home runs, 37 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases and was named a First Team All-Pac-10 selection. Professional career He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 8th round of the 2001 MLB Draft and accepted a contract with them. Christopher Duffy (21 October 1918 – 20 February 1978) was a Scottish footballer who played as a left winger in the English Football League. He scored the only goal for Charlton Athletic in extra time in the 1947 FA Cup Final, against Burnley. Duffy, a fast and intelligent winger, first came to Charlton Athletic as a war time guest player. A modest fee of £330 persuaded his home club, Leith Athletic to relinquish his services when he was demobilised from the armed forces. His appearance against Burnley was his third Cup Final. Christopher John Duffy (born 31 October 1973) is an English former footballer who played as a defender and a midfielder. Career Initially playing in the youth set-up at both Manchester City and Crewe Alexandra, Duffy signed professional terms with Crewe in 1992. Whilst at Crewe, Duffy joined Mossley for a nine-game loan spell in the 1991–1992 season. In 1993, Duffy signed for Wigan Athletic, making 31 Football League appearances at the club, scoring once. Christian Duffy (born December 1961), also known as Chris Duffy was an American professional bodybuilder, who also worked as a gay porn actor in the gay pornography film industry under the pseudonym Bull Stanton. Early life Duffy was an All-American in high-school football, and started to train as a bodybuilder during his teen years. Duffy's idol was bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger. Christopher Duffy (1936 – 16 November 2022) was a British military historian. Duffy read history at Balliol College, Oxford, where he graduated in 1961 with the DPhil. Afterwards, he taught military history at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and the college of the British General Staff. He was secretary-general of the British Commission for Military History and vice-president of the Military History Society of Ireland. From 1996 to 2001, he was research professor at the De Montfort University, Leicester. He then worked as a freelance author. Duffy's special interest was the military history of the European modern age, in particular the history of the German, Prussian, and Austrian armed forces. He wrote two books on the Jacobite Rising in Scotland in 1745. He was most famous for his writings about Frederick the Great and the Seven Years' War. Chris Duffy (born December 17, 1987) is a minor league baseball player who is currently a free agent. College career Duffy was drafted out of Cypress Creek High School by the Chicago White Sox in the 9th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft but elected to attend the University of Central Florida, where he played outfield for the Central Florida Knights baseball team from 2007-2010. His parents suggested he attend college to mature. Duffy was a starter through his career with the Knights but had his breakout season as a senior, hitting .447 with 21 home runs and 81 runs batted in. Waterfront is a 1980s Welsh pop duo, comprising Phil Cilia (full name Philip Laurence Cilia) and Chris Duffy (full name Christopher James Duffy), who emerged from the ashes of local Cardiff band The Official Secrets. The band met their manager, John Newman, when recording demos at his recording studio, Music Factory, in Cardiff. Newman remained with them as a personal manager throughout their successful years. Bazooka Joe (band)
Bazooka Joe or Bazooka Joe and the Lillets were a British pub rock band formed by John Ellis and Danny Kleinman in 1970. They featured bass player Stuart Goddard, who would later change his name to Adam Ant. Both Ellis and Goddard would go on to find success with The Vibrators and Adam and the Ants, respectively. Besides the later fame of their members, Bazooka Joe are primarily known as the band that headlined when Sex Pistols played their first concert on 6 November 1975 at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Ant has since recounted how he left the band directly due to a dispute over Sex Pistols' performance, which he was the only member of the band to have enjoyed.
