Chris Country
CountryLine Radio is a UK-based radio station playing country music. Founded by Chris Stevens, it launched as Chris Country on 27 April 2013. The station is now owned by CountryLine, having purchased the station from Chris Stevens and Nation Broadcasting in March 2020 and its owners rebranded the station on 7 March 2022 to CountryLine Radio. DAB availability CountryLine Radio is currently available in several areas of the UK. The station's first carriage agreements were on three of Ofcom's trial of small-scale DAB multiplexes - Manchester, Portsmouth and Cambridge. On 11 March 2016 the station launched on the London 2 DAB multiplex. Nation Broadcasting is a British media company headquartered in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It currently owns and operates twelve Independent Local Radio stations across the United Kingdom. History Originally known as Town and Country Broadcasting, the Nation name came into being when the company took over XFM South Wales in May 2008 and rebranded the station as Nation Radio. 3C (radio)
3C was a United Kingdom radio station, based in Clydebank, Dunbartonshire, Scotland and was provided by Radio Clyde, owned by Scottish Radio Holdings, later bought by EMAP Radio. It played country music. Its sister stations were ''Clyde 1'' and ''Clyde 2''. On 26 March 2007, the station told listeners that it was closing at the next day, stating that :''"It is the result of a brand review undertaken by our parent company, which operates a large number of radio stations and other media interests."'' At 5pm on 27 March 2007, they played their final song (Tennessee by The Wreckers) and began re-broadcasting Clyde 1 on Freeview to see out the final year of the five-year contract. Country 1035 was a country music based Independent Local Radio station based in London, England. History After airing test transmissions the first voice officially heard on air was the station's chairman John Wellington. In his opening words he noted that the station will "''fulfill a long awaited need''". It was the first terrestrial station in the UK to broadcast Country music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (although TV and Radio stations had been broadcasting the genre daily for sometime). Switch London is a DAB ensemble operated by Switchdigital; it broadcasts from a variety of sites in and around London (Alexandra Palace transmitting station, Alexandra Palace, Arkley, Bluebell Hill transmitting station, Bluebell Hill, BT Tower, Colindale House, Crystal Palace transmitting station, Crystal Palace, Guildford, Hampstead, Harrow Weald, Hemel Hempstead, Leatherhead Stoke d'Abernon, Mount Vernon, Otford, Reigate, Richmond Hill, Shepherds Bush, Shooters Hill, Sidcup, Staines, Uxbridge and Zouches Farm). It has been on air since July 2000. It is also referred to as the Greater London 2 multiplex.
