Chorweiler
Chorweiler (, ) is the sixth borough ('' Stadtbezirk'') of Cologne, Germany. Large portion of the borough of Chorweiler were incorporated into the city of Cologne in 1922, the borough of Chorweiler was created in the 1970s. The borough has the lowest population density in Cologne and many areas are very rural. The borough of Chorweiler borders with the Cologne boroughs of Nippes and Ehrenfeld to the South, Rhein-Erft-Kreis to the West, Rhein-Kreis Neuss to the North, and the Rhine to the East. On the other riverbank lie the city of Leverkusen and Monheim am Rhein. Subdivisions Chorweiler consists of twelve Stadtteile (city parts): Transportation Chorweiler is served by numerous railway stations and highway. Köln-Chorweiler Station
Köln-Chorweiler is a combined light rail and railway station situated at Chorweiler, Cologne in western Germany. It is served by the S11 line of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn and line 15 of Cologne Stadtbahn. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. History The genesis of the joint Stadtbahn and S-Bahn station and the railway lines on which it lies, is closely linked to the development of a large housing estate of Chorweiler. Both the S-Bahn line, a loop from the Cologne–Neuss railway, as well as the Stadtbahn line, an extension of the line to Longerich, were built before the actual start of construction of the estate on a green-field site. The Cologne Stadtbahn is a light rail system in the German city of Cologne, including several surrounding cities of the Cologne Bonn Region (Bergisch Gladbach, Bonn, Bornheim, Brühl, Frechen, Hürth, Leverkusen-Schlebusch, Wesseling). Fühlingen
Fühlingen is a village in the northern part of the city of Cologne. It is part of the Stadtbezirk, borough of Chorweiler. Fühlingen is well known for its artificial lake, Fühlinger See. This is a list of KVB light rail stations of the Cologne Stadtbahn system. The system covers the city of Cologne, as well as several surrounding cities (Bergisch Gladbach, Bonn, Bornheim, Brühl, Frechen, Hürth, Leverkusen-Schlebusch, Wesseling) and is operated and owned by KVB (''Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe'', Cologne transit authority). Bundesautobahn 57
is a German Autobahn that begins at the Dutch-German border near Goch and ends in Köln. It runs parallel to the Rhine River. Neuss and Krefeld are the biggest cities at this motorway. The A 57 is continuation of the Dutch A77. Because of its high economic importance, its nickname is "Trans-Niederrhein-Magistrale". Most of it is two lanes each way only and prone to traffic jams in the rush hour. Currently the sections junction 15 - 18, 19 - 24 and 29 - 30 have three lanes each way. The section from junction 28 to 29 southbound has the possibility to open the hard shoulder as a third lane in heavy traffic. Traffic jams are possible between junctions 10 and 15, 17 and 20 as well as around junctions 27/28. There is a variable speed limit between junction 10 and 23. The sections from junction 23 to 24 and 27 to 30 have a limit of 100 km/h. Between junctions 27 and 28 the limit was reduced to 80 km/h between 10pm and 6am at night.
