Choo-Choo!
''Choo-Choo!'' is a 1932 ''Our Gang'' short comedy film directed by Robert F. McGowan. It was the 114th (26th talking episode) ''Our Gang'' short that was released. It is a remake of the 1923 ''Our Gang'' film '' A Pleasant Journey''. Plot Exchanging clothes with a group of runaway orphans who escape from a train, the gang ends up on a train headed for Chicago. Pressed into service as the kids' supervisor, Travelers Aid attendant Mr. Henderson (Dell Henderson) suffers torment, especially when he tries to prevent three-year-old Spanky from socking the nose of every adult in sight. Things come to a head late that night when Stymie accidentally releases a monkey from its cage, and the monkey in turn releases a menagerie of circus animals from the baggage car and then lights some fireworks. Harold Wertz
Harold Wertz (August 3, 1927 – November 21, 1999) was an American child actor. Early years Wertz was born in Denison, Texas, and raised in Long Beach, California. He attended Woodrow Wilson Classical High School, Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach. Our Gang Back in 1929, after seeing a notice in the local newspaper, his mother entered him in a contest to replace the Hal Roach produced Our Gang comedies fat boy character Joe Cobb who had outgrown the role. Norman Chaney though won the role over 500 other entries, including Harold. Norman was known as Chubby. He was even older than Joe Cobb and in 1931 he aged out of the series so after a few months, Harold Wertz was hired to be the fat kid and would begin working at the end of 1931. Dell Henderson
George Delbert "Dell" Henderson (July 5, 1877 – December 2, 1956) was a Canadian-American actor, director, and writer. He began his long and prolific film career in the early days of silent film. Biography Born in the Southwestern Ontario city of St. Thomas, Dell Henderson started his acting career on the stage, but appeared in his first movie ''Monday Morning in a Coney Island Police Court'' already in 1908. Henderson was a frequent associate of film pioneer D.W. Griffith since 1909 and appeared in numerous of his early shorts in Hollywood. He also acted on a less prolific basis in the movies of producer Mack Sennett and his Keystone Studios. In addition to acting, Henderson also directed nearly 200 silent films between 1911 and 1928. Eddie Baker (born Edward King; November 17, 1897 – February 4, 1968) was an American film actor. He supported Laurel and Hardy in several of their films, but is best remembered for his (uncredited) role as a boxing referee in Charlie Chaplin's ''City Lights'' (1931). Donald Haines
Donald Haines (May 9, 1919 – February 20, 1943) was an American child actor who had recurring appearances in the ''Our Gang'' short subjects series from 1930 to 1933. He appeared in ''Our Gang'' during the early sound days along with Norman "Chubby" Chaney, Allen "Farina" Hoskins, Jackie Cooper, Matthew "Stymie" Beard, Bobby "Wheezer" Hutchins, and Dorothy DeBorba. Kendall McComas
Kendall McComas (October 29, 1916 – October 15, 1981) was an American child actor. Career Born in Holton, Kansas, McComas first appeared in the '' Mickey McGuire'' short subjects series as a member of Mickey McGuire's gang and stayed throughout the series run in the silent era. He also played the role of Stinky Davis in some of the series' earliest sound shorts. In 1931, he joined the ''Our Gang'' series, first appearing in the 1932 Our Gang short ''Readin' and Writin'''. McComas stayed with Our Gang for a full year and left the series after appearing in the 1932 short ''Birthday Blues''. A Pleasant Journey
''A Pleasant Journey'' is a 1923 silent short comedy film and the tenth ''Our Gang'' short subject comedy released. The ''Our Gang'' series (later known as "The Little Rascals") was created by Hal Roach in 1922, and continued production until 1944. Plot The gang decides to switch places with a group of runaway boys who are supposed to be taken by train back to San Francisco. While aboard the train, the gang wreaks havoc for the other passengers. Jackie rescues his dog, T-Bone, from the baggage compartment and this causes considerable disturbance with the conductor. He later changes clothes with a little girl, and they both get spankings by the adults. A traveling salesman volunteers to entertain the children with his noisemakers and fireworks. Robert Howard Mallon (April 7, 1919 - September 10, 2008) was an American actor. Early life He was born in Greybull, Wyoming. Career Mallon was known for playing Bobby in 13 of the ''Our Gang''/'' Little Rascals'' series of movies produced by Hal Roach. He left show business after being "retired" from the Gang in 1932. Charles Douglas "Turkey Egg" Greer (May 21, 1921 – January 6, 2016) was an American child actor. Career and war service Greer was a semi-regular actor in ''Our Gang'' between 1930 and 1932, but also appeared in some feature films besides the gang. He often appeared in roles as a tough kid. Born in Canada, he moved with his family to Glendale, California in 1924. He began working in the movies at age seven after winning a freckle contest. Thomas "Buddy"/"Bud" McDonald (October 1, 1922 – September 22, 2008) was an American child actor. Pete The Pup
Pete the Pup (original, 1924 – June 1930; second Pete, September 9, 1929 – January 28, 1946) was a character in Hal Roach's '' Our Gang'' comedies (later known as ''The Little Rascals'') during the 1930s, otherwise known as "Pete, the dog with the ring around his eye", or simply "Petey". The original Pete (sired by "Tudor's Black Jack") was a UKC registered American Pit Bull Terrier named "Pal, the Wonder Dog", and had a natural ring almost completely around his right eye; dye was used to finish it off.
