Choi Kang-hee (footballer)
Choi Kang-hee (; born 12 April 1959) is a South Korean football manager and former player. Club career Choi played for Hanil Bank and Army FC in the Korean Semi-professional League. After he accomplished his military service in ROK Army, South Korea's professional league (K League) was founded at a similar time, and he started his professional career by joining a K League club POSCO Dolphins. However, he transferred to Hyundai Horang-i after hearing the news of its foundation. He became a founding member of Hyundai Horang-i, and spent the rest of his playing career in there. He retired at the end of the 1992 season after a row with the club's manager Cha Bum-kun over Cha's training methods. International career Choi was called up to the South Korean national team for the 1988 Summer Olympics. He played all three games, but South Korea were knocked out of the group stage in the Olympics. Kim Ho
Kim Ho (; born 24 November 1944) is a South Korean former football player and manager. Early life Kim was born in Tongyeong, a coastal city of South Korea, and started football in his hometown. He originally joined Tongyeong High School when he became old enough to join a high school, but there was no football club. He transferred to Jinju High School the next year to learn football professionally. However, he experienced a slump in Jinju, and once again moved to another school, Dongnae High School in Busan. Kim respected the Dongnae's manager An Jong-soo, and followed him into a semi-professional club Cheil Industries instead of university. International career Kim was on the South Korea national team from 1966 to 1972, and won the 1970 Asian Games. The 1990 FIFA World Cup was the 14th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was held from 8 June to 8 July 1990 in Italy, the second country to host the event for a second time (the first being Mexico in 1986). Teams representing 116 national football associations entered and qualification began in April 1988. 22 teams qualified from this process, along with host nation Italy and defending champions Argentina. Football At The 1988 Summer Olympics
An association football tournament was played as part of the 1988 Summer Olympics. The tournament featured 16 men's national teams from six continental confederations. The teams were drawn into four groups of four with each group playing a round-robin tournament. At the end of the group stage, the top two teams advanced to the knockout stage, beginning with the quarter-finals and culminating with the gold medal match at the Seoul Olympic Stadium on 1 October 1988. Before the final match, the Soviets relocated from the Olympic Village to Soviet steamship stationed nearby. K League
K League (Hangul: K리그) is South Korea's professional football league. It includes first division K League 1 and second division K League 2.
