Choe Byeong-chan
Choe Byeong-chan (; born 4 April 1996) is a South Korean professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for K League 1 side Gimcheon Sangmu. Club career Choe made his professional debut for Seongnam in the K League 2 on 1 April 2018 against Chungnam Asan. He started and played 42 minutes before being substituted off as Seongnam won 1–0. He then scored his first professional goal a month later on 12 May against Gwangju. His 39th-minute goal was the second in a 3–1 victory. Choe then scored a brace for Seongnam on 30 June 2018 during a 2–1 victory over Bucheon 1995. Choe scored his first goal in the first division K League 1 on 19 May 2019 in a 2–1 defeat against Gangwon. The 2019 K League 1 was the 37th season of the top division of professional football in South Korea since its establishment in 1983, and the seventh season of the K League 1. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors were the defending champions. Gimcheon (; , trans., 'gold spring city') is a city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is situated on the major land transportation routes between Seoul and Busan, namely the Gyeongbu Expressway and Gyeongbu Line railway. 2020 K League 1
The 2020 K League 1 was the 38th season of the top division of professional football in South Korea since its establishment in 1983 as K League, and the third season under its current name, the K League 1. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors were the defending champions. They successfully defended their title and won a record-breaking eight K League championship. The regular season was scheduled to begin on 29 February and to end on 4 October, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The K League 1 season officially began on 8 May. On 24 April 2020, the Korean Professional Football Union (K League) confirmed that they would adopt a modified plan for the season, changing the regular season to 22 matches, and 5 Final Round matches per team. 2018 K League 2
The 2018 K League 2 was the sixth season of the K League 2, the second-highest division in the South Korean football league system. Asan Mugunghwa once again grabbed an opportunity for promotion by winning its second K League 2 title (officially first title after Ansan era), but its owner Korean Police Agency did not recruit new players who could meet clubs' requisite for maintenance before the end of the season. Asan Mugunghwa, which was in the process of being dissolved, was finally disqualified from promoting. Runners-up Seongnam FC directly qualified for the K League 1 instead of Asan Mugunghwa, and the third, fourth, and fifth-placed team advanced to the promotion playoffs.
