Chingmei River
The Jingmei River () is a major tributary of the Xindian River, which itself is a major tributary of the Tamsui River, Taiwan. It is located between the Taipei Basin and Beishi River basin and flows through New Taipei City and the capital Taipei City for 28.1 kilometers, before joining the Xindian River at the border of Wenshan District, Taipei, and Yonghe District, New Taipei City, above the Fuhe Bridge. Xindian River
The Xindian River (or Xindian Creek) () is a river in northern Taiwan. It flows through New Taipei and the capital Taipei for . Overview The Xindian River is one of the three major tributaries into the Tamsui River. Its main tributary is the Beishi River which originates in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City at an elevation of . The Feitsui Dam spans the Beishi southeast of Taipei. It flows west past Xindian before merging with the Nanshi River; it is at this point that it becomes "Xindian River". It then turns north and merges with the Jingmei River, before finally merging with the Dahan River and feeding into the Tamsui River. The river is one of the main sources for drinking water in Taipei City. Tamsui River
The Tamsui River (alternatively Danshui River, ) is third longest river in Taiwan after Zhuoshui River and Gaoping River, with a total length of , flowing through Hsinchu County, Taoyuan, Taipei and New Taipei City. Taipei Basin
The Taipei Basin () is a geographic region in northern Taiwan. It is the largest basin in Taiwan. The basin is bounded by the Yangmingshan to the north, the Linkou Plateau to the west, and the Ridge of Xueshan Range to the southeast. The shape of the basin is close to a triangle. The three vertices are Nangang, Huilong of Xinzhuang, and Guandu of Beitou. The main rivers in the Taipei Basin include the Tamsui, Keelung, Dahan and Xindian. In the prehistoric era, the Taipei Basin was home to Ketagalan tribes. Han Chinese did not settle in the region until the 18th century. New Taipei City
New Taipei City is a special municipality located in northern Taiwan. The city is home to an estimated population of 3,974,683 as of 2022, making it the most populous city of Taiwan, and also the second largest special municipality by area, behind Kaohsiung. Yonghe District
Yonghe District () is an urban area in the southern part of New Taipei, Taiwan. Yonghe District is the smallest district in New Taipei City. It is primarily a mixed residential and commercial area.
