Film Director
A film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the film crew and actors in the fulfilment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design and all the creative aspects of filmmaking. The film director gives direction to the cast and crew and creates an overall vision through which a film eventually becomes realized or noticed. Directors need to be able to mediate differences in creative visions and stay within the budget. There are many pathways to becoming a film director. Some film directors started as screenwriters, cinematographers, producers, film editors or actors. Other film directors have attended a film school. Directors use different approaches. Feng Gong
Feng Gong (; born 6 December 1957) is a Chinese actor, '' xiangsheng'' performer, director, screenwriter. and politician. He is best known for his performances in the annual CCTV New Year's Gala, having made more appearances on the show than every other major performer. Biography Feng Gong was born Feng Mingguang () in Tianjin, China, on December 6, 1957, the son of Feng Haigang (; 1920-1993), a local government official, and Liu Yisu (; born 1921), a daughter of an eminent family. He has an elderly sister, Feng Xingyun (； born 1947) and two elderly brother, Feng Xin () and Feng Chuanshu (). Hou Yong (cinematographer)
Hou Yong (; born 1960) is a Chinese filmmaker and cinematographer. He is perhaps best known for his collaboration with director Zhang Yimou, though he has worked with many of China's major directors. Like some of Zhang's other cinematographers (notably Lü Yue, whom Hou replaced), Hou has also moved into the directing world. In 2004, he directed ''Jasmine Women'' starring Zhang Ziyi. Hou Hsiao-hsien
Hou Hsiao-hsien (; born 8 April 1947) is a Mainland Chinese-born Taiwanese film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He is a leading figure in world cinema and in Taiwan's New Wave cinema movement. He won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1989 for his film ''A City of Sadness'' (1989), and the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015 for '' The Assassin'' (2015). He Qun (; 7 December 1955 – 31 December 2016) was a Chinese filmmaker. He Ping (; born 1957 in Shanxi) is a Chinese film director, screenwriter and producer whose main filmography consists of a hybrid genre of Western-wuxia movies. Xiaolu Guo FRSL () born 20 November 1973) is a Chinese-born British novelist, memoirist and film-maker, who explores migration, alienation, memory, personal journeys, feminism, translation and transnational identities. Gao Xiaosong
Gao Xiaosong (; born 14 November 1969) is a Chinese American composer, songwriter, music producer, and director. He was the Chairman of Alibaba Entertainment Strategic Committee and AliMusic. In 2009, Gao was appointed Honorary President of Beijing Contemporary Music Academy. In 2015, Gao founded the nonprofit Zashuguan Library and has been its curator since then. The library has a collection of over 800,000 books and documents, the majority of which were published during the Ming and Qing dynasties and the Republic of China period.
