San Francisco Chinese Hospital is a hospital in San Francisco and the only Chinese hospital in the United States. The hospital is located in San Francisco's Chinatown. Chinese Hospital primarily serves the elderly, poor and immigrants from China in the San Francisco area and provides an alternative to San Francisco General Hospital for patients with a language barrier. The hospital also operates CCHP, (Chinese Community Health Plan). The hospital's staff can provide services spoken in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taishanese and other languages. Montreal Chinese Hospital
The Montreal Chinese Hospital (french: Hôpital chinois de Montréal, ) is a former hospital and current long-term care facility (CHSLD) on Viger Avenue, just east of Le Quartier Chinois. Despite no longer being an active hospital or having an emergency room, it maintains its historic name and primary mandate to serve the Chinese Canadian community residing in the province of Quebec. Norman Yee
Norman Yee (, born July 29, 1949) is a former American elected official and educator in San Francisco, California. He served as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors representing Supervisorial District 7 from 2012 to 2021 and was elected president of the Board in January 2019. Early life and education Yee was born at Chinese Hospital in Chinatown, San Francisco and grew up working at his parents' grocery store in Noe Valley, San Francisco. As a child, he had a speech impediment and would often get into fights when teased. Yee attended Galileo Academy of Science and Technology. The Chee Kung Tong (), or Gee Kung Tong, was a Chinese secret society established in 1880 and holds an active presence still. In earlier years, the society has also been recognized as the "Chinese Masons" and has been identified under various names such as Hongmen (), Hongshuntang (), and Yixingtang ({{zh, 義興堂). The fraternity founded its headquarters in San Francisco in the United States. Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) is a Chinese American fraternal, benevolent non-profit organization founded in 1895 in San Francisco, California to secure equal rights for Americans of Chinese ancestry and to better the welfare of their communities. C.A.C.A. is the United States' oldest Asian American civil rights organization. Organization C.A.C.A. was originally named the ''Native Sons of the Golden State'' (similar to the Native Sons of the Golden West) and changed to its present name in 1915 to reflect its national presence.
