China National Highway 316
China National Highway 316 (G316) runs from Fuzhou in Fujian to Lanzhou in Gansu, via Nanchang (in Jiangxi) and Wuhan (in Hubei). It is 2915 kilometres in length. The highway crosses the provinces of Gansu, Shaanxi, Hubei, Jiangxi, and Fujian. In Gansu, from Lanzhou to the junction at Huichuan Town (in Weiyuan County, Gansu, 35 or so km south of Lintao), G316 also doubles as China National Highway 212. On much of this section (Lanzhou to Lintao) it has been converted to an Expressways of China, expressway, designated G75 (the G75 Lanzhou–Haikou Expressway, Linhai Expressway). In south-eastern Hubei (from Ezhou to the junction along the Jiangxi border) the G316 doubles as China National Highway 106. Fuzhou
Fuzhou (; , Fuzhounese: Hokchew, ''Hók-ciŭ''), alternately romanized as Foochow, is the capital and one of the largest cities in Fujian province, China. Along with the many counties of Ningde, those of Fuzhou are considered to constitute the Mindong (lit. Eastern Fujian) linguistic and cultural area. Fuzhou lies on the north (left) bank of the estuary of Fujian's largest river, the Min River. All along its northern border lies Ningde, and Ningde's Gutian County lies upriver. Its population was 7,115,370 inhabitants as of the 2010 census, of whom 4,408,076 inhabitants are urban representing around 61.95%, while rural population is at 2,707,294 representing around 38.05%. China National Highway 106
China National Highway 106 (G106; , 106 Guo Dao) is a road from Beijing to Guangzhou. It leaves Beijing at Yuquanying and heads to Gu'an County, Bazhou (Hebei), Kaifeng (Henan), Ezhou (Hubei), and eventually Guangzhou (Guangdong) on the south China coast. Yunmeng
Yunmeng County () is a county in eastern Hubei province, People's Republic of China. It is administered by Xiaogan City and is located just outside Xiaogan's urban area. History During the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history (770-476 BCE), Yunmeng County formed part of the Zhou Dynasty vassal State of Yun, later annexed by the State of Chu whose kings used the area as a hunting ground. After Chu's defeat at the hands of the State of Qin in 223 BCE, Yunmeng became part of Qin territory. Legend suggests that China's first emperor Qin Shi Huang visited the county in 219 BCE. Yunmeng was the location of the Jiangxia Commandery of the Han Dynasty and the cradle of the Chinese Huang Clan. Xiaogan
Xiaogan () is a prefecture-level city in east-central Hubei province, People's Republic of China, some northwest of the provincial capital of Wuhan. According to the 2020 census, its population totaled 4,270,371, of whom 988,479 lived in the built-up (''or metro'') area of Xiaonan District. The city name Xiaogan, meaning ''Filial Piety Moves Tian'' (), is from the story of Dong Yong (), who sold himself for his father's funeral, in ''The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars''. Daye, Hubei
Daye () is a county-level city in eastern Hubei province, China. It is under the administration of the Huangshi prefecture-level city. As it is usually the case with county-level cities, Daye includes both an urban core and a fair amount of rural land in all directions, with smaller townships (''zhen'') such as Dajipu (). As of 2017, Daye spans an area of , and has a population of about 1,014,000 residents. The city is made up of 18 township-level divisions. The Daye Lake south of Daye's urban core is surrounded by parks and fishing ponds, and is a popular place for recreation. Shunchang County (; Northern Min: ) is a county under the administration of Nanping City, in the northwest of Fujian province, People's Republic of China. The county's name was established in 933, during the Tang Dynasty. It has a total population of approximately 241,200 people as of the end of 2003.
