Sanya Phoenix International Airport
Sanya Phoenix International Airport is an airport serving the city of Sanya in Hainan, the southernmost province of China. It is located about northwest of the city center. Sanya Phoenix International Airport is a main airport hub and comprises close to ten thousand acres. The runway is about long and wide, which satisfies the take off and landing requirements of a fully weighted Boeing 747, Airbus A340 or other large aircraft. It is the second busiest airport in Hainan, the busiest being Haikou Meilan International Airport. However, it was the first airport in Hainan to launch transcontinental air service, when Transaero Airlines started operating non-stop to Sanya from Moscow as early as 2007. Hainanese (Hainan Romanised: ', Hainanese Pinyin: ',), also known as Qióngwén, Heng2 vun2 () or Qióngyǔ, Heng2 yi2 (), is a group of Min Chinese varieties spoken in the southern Chinese island province of Hainan and Overseas Chinese such as Malaysia. In the classification of Yuan Jiahua, it was included in the Southern Min group, being mutually unintelligible with other Southern Min varieties such as Hokkien–Taiwanese and Teochew. Air Changan () is a Chinese domestic airline. Its main operating base is Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, serving several cities in Shaanxi Province. Initially an independent carrier, Air Changan merged with Hainan Airlines in 2000 and was later absorbed into that airline.
