Chile's National Basketball Team
The Chile national basketball team is controlled by the Federación de Básquetbol de Chile. It is affiliated to FIBA, under the zone confederation of FIBA Americas. In the 1950s, Chile had one of the finest national basketball teams in the world. In more recent years team has primarily competed regionally at the FIBA South American Championship. FIBA AmeriCup
The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organised the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament. Through the 2015 edition, the Americas Championship took place every two years, and was also a qualifying tournament for the FIBA World Cup and the Summer Olympic Games. However, since 2017, the AmeriCup, along with all other FIBA continental championships for men are played once every four years. The Chile national under-16 and under-17 basketball team is a national basketball team of Chile, administered by the Federación de Basquetbol de Chile. It represents the country in international under-16 and under-17 (under age 16 and under age 17) basketball competitions. Guillermo Edgardo Vecchio (born March 9, 1961 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentina, Argentine professional basketball head coach. Club coaching career Vecchio began his coaching career in Lanus, and then moved to the Liga Nacional de Básquet, Argentine League club Obras Sanitarias, where he won the Intercontinental Cup (basketball), William Jones World Cup in 1983. He moved to the Baloncesto Superior Nacional, Puerto Rican League, for 3 years with Coamo. Then he came back to Argentina, where he won 2 Torneo Nacional de Ascenso, TNA cups with Estudiantes Concordia and Regatas SN. He also coached teams in Venezuela, Mexico, Chile, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Bahrain. Dan Peterson
Daniel Lowell Peterson (born January 9, 1936) is a former American professional basketball head coach. He resigned from his most recent position as the head coach of Olimpia Milano in the Italian LBA after the team was eliminated in the semi-finals of the 2011 Italian league playoffs. The team then announced that he would assume another role with the club. He is nicknamed "The Coach" for his legacy in Italian basketball. Biography Peterson went to Evanston Township High School in Evanston, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston and a master's degree from the University of Michigan.
