Chieri ’76 Volleyball is an Italian professional women's volleyball club based in Chieri and currently playing in the Serie A1. Previous names Due to sponsorship, the club have competed under the following names: * Chieri '76 Carol's (2009–2015) * Chieri '76 Volleyball (2015–2015) * Fenera Chieri (2015–present) History As part of the association, the club was officially established on 14 May 2009 and named after Chieri Volley (also known as Pallavolo Chieri and Chieri Torino). The origins of In Alto Chieri dates back from the late 1990s, when Chieri Volley, the traditional professional women's volleyball club of the town and InVolley, another local volleyball club, started a project on which Chieri focused on the professional team and InVolley on the youth teams. Chieri (; pms, Cher) is a town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont (Italy), located about southeast of Turin, by rail and by road. It borders the following municipalities: Baldissero Torinese, Pavarolo, Montaldo Torinese, Pino Torinese, Arignano, Andezeno, Pecetto Torinese, Riva presso Chieri, Cambiano, Santena, and Poirino. The Italian Women's Volleyball League Serie A1 ( it, Serie A1 italiana di pallavolo femminile), is the highest women's volleyball league in Italy. It is organized and administrated by the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV). It is considered one of the oldest women's top national leagues in European volleyball, being established in 1946 in sports, 1946, and its clubs have achieved significant success in the continental European club competitions. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The CEV Women's Challenge Cup, formerly (from 1980 to 2007) known as CEV Women's Cup is the third official competition for women's volleyball clubs of Europe and takes place every year.
