Enrico Credendino
Enrico Credendino (born 21 January 1963) is an officer of the Italian Navy. He was appointed Chief of the Italian Navy in November 2021. He joined the Navy in 1980 and attended the Italian Naval Academy. He commanded the patrol vessel ''Spica'', the ''Maestrale''-class frigate ''Maestrale'' and the ''Durand de la Penne''-class missile destroyer ''Francesco Mimbelli''. Upon promotion to rear admiral (lower half) on 1 July 2011 he was appointed Deputy Commander of front Line Naval Forces and Deputy Commander of Amphibious Force and Commander of the Italian Naval Task Group. From September 2013 he was Head of Plans and Policy Department at the Italian Navy General Staff. He was promoted to rear admiral on 1 July 2014. Admiral Valter Girardelli (born Rovereto, 22 July 1955) is a retired Italian Naval officer who served as Chief of the Italian Navy from 2016 to 2019. He joined the navy in 1975 and graduated from the Naval Academy in 1978. He served aboard various ships as an Operations officer. He commanded the ITS ''Giuseppe Garibaldi'' from 2000 to 2002. In 2004 he was appointed to flag rank and held various posts ashore. Bruno Branciforte (born November 6, 1947) is an Italian admiral. He was Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy from 23 February 2010 to 2 March 2012 and he succeeded to Nicolò Pollari as the last head of the Italian Military Intelligence and Security Service (SISMI), nominated by Prime Minister Romano Prodi, from 21 November to 2006 to 3 August 2007 when the Agency was dissolved and transformed into the Italian External Intelligence and Security Agency (AISE).
