Bernhard Chenaux
Bernhard Chenaux (born 1 September 1939) is a Swiss retired footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s as forward. Chenaux joined FC Basel's first team in their 1957–58 season under manager Rudi Strittich. After playing in two test matches, Chenaux played his domestic league debut for the club in the away game on 23 February 1958 against Urania Genève Sport as he was substituted in for the injured Silvan Thüler. In the same match he scored his first goal for his club, but this could not save Basel from a 2–3 defeat. Eliot Chenaux
Eliot Chenaux born on April 11, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a former academic and competitive swimmer who competed with the Puerto Rican team in the 1964 Summer Olympics. He also swam for Puerto Rico in the Pan American Games in São Paulo in 1963 and in Winnipeg in 1967. Whitewater Region
Whitewater Region is a township on the Ottawa River in Renfrew County, located within the scenic Ottawa Valley in eastern Ontario, Canada. Whitewater Region is made up of the former municipalities of Beachburg, Cobden, Ross and Westmeath, which were amalgamated into the current township on January 1, 2001. Whitewater Region is named after the stretch of world-famous whitewater on the Ottawa River, popular for rafting and kayaking. This section is part of the Ottawa River Provincial Park. The township also claims a distinctive place in Canada's history. An astrolabe bearing the date 1613 and believed to have belonged to Samuel de Champlain was discovered within the township. A monument commemorating this historic site is located just outside Cobden on Highway 17. Les Chenaux Regional County Municipality
Les Chenaux (meaning ''the channels'' in French) is a regional county municipality in central Quebec, Canada, in the Mauricie region. The seat is in Saint-Luc-de-Vincennes. It is located adjacent on the east of Trois-Rivières on the Saint Lawrence River. It has a land area of and a population of 17,865 inhabitants in the Canada 2011 Census. Its largest community is the parish of Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel. Les Chenaux is one of the few regional county municipalities in Quebec that does not constitute its own census division; instead, it is grouped with Trois-Rivières as the single census division of Francheville. The rivière des Chenaux (''English: Channel river'') is a tributary of the Lombrette River flowing on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence river, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. This river flows consecutively through the regional county municipalities (MRC) of: * Charlevoix Regional County Municipality: in the municipality of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François; * La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality: in the municipality of Saint-Tite-des-Caps. This small valley is mainly served by the Route 138 which normally runs along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River; however, it distances itself from the river in this area of Charlevoix. Chenaux Castle
Chenaux Castle is a castle in the municipality of Estavayer-le-Lac of the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. History It was built in 1284 by Pierre d'Estavayer and his brother Guillaume on the model of the “Carre Savoyard” or "Savoyard square”. Pierre d’Estavayer was in the service of King Edward I of England as a knight during the Welsh Wars. He was a nephew of Otto de Grandson the justiciar of North Wales. In 1286 his uncle gave him Tipperary in Ireland for life, making him Lord of Tipperary. In 1290 he travelled with his uncle and was at the fall of Acre in 1291, returning then to Switzerland. His brother Guillaume is also recorded in 1283 as being in the service of King Edward I of England. His uncle enabled him to be a canon at Lincoln, being Archdeacon in 1316.
