An acoustic wooden string instrument with strings made of gut or nylon, it is a precursor of the modern acoustic and electric guitars, both of which use metal strings. Chen Zhi () is a Chinese guitar teacher (pedagogue) and promoter, who is today known for the exceptionally high level that his classical guitar students reach. He is one of China's best-known personalities of the guitar in general (not just the classical guitar). Li Jie (guitar Player)
Li Jie (; born 1981) is a Chinese classical guitarist. Biography She began studying the classical guitar at the age of 11 ( Chinese age) under Professor Chen Zhi. One year later, she appeared as a performer on the television program "Classical Guitar's Technique and Performance" broadcast on China's official national television station CCTV. In 1995, she enrolled in Middle School (high school) at the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music (CCM) in China. Li Jie won the 2nd International Guitar Competition in Hong Kong in August 1998. Li Jie was among the group of three girls, consisting of Li Jie, Wang Yameng, and Chen Shanshan, named "God's Favored Girls - Super Trio". Su Meng
Su Meng (; born 1988) is a classical guitarist. She was born in Qingdao, Shandong. She started studying classical guitar in 1997 under the tuition of Chen Zhi of the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2006 she was under full scholarship of Manuel Barrueco of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University.
