Cheesecake (Teo Song)
Belarus participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Cheesecake" written by Yuriy Vashchuk and Dmitry Novik. The song was performed by Teo, which is the artistic name of singer Yuriy Vashchuk. The Belarusian entry for the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark was selected through a national final organised by the Belarusian broadcaster National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC). The national final consisted of fourteen competing acts participating in a televised production where "Cheesecake" performed by Teo was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from a jury panel and public televoting. Belarus was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 8 May 2014. Performing during the show in position 10, "Cheesecake" was announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 10 May. Yuriy Alexeyevich Vashchuk (russian: Юрий Алексеевич Ващук, , be, Юрый Аляксеевіч Вашчук, ; born 24 January 1983), better known by his stage name Teo, is a Belarusian singer, songwriter, and television presenter. Teo showed passion for music early in his childhood. He won his first music competition as the winner of the international contest "Scilla", and won his first major competition as the winner of the television program "Zornaya Rostan". Teo won the Belarusian national song contest and represented his country at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with the song " Cheesecake". He ultimately finished 16th, receiving a total of 43 points. Malta participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "One Life" written by Paul Giordimaina and Fleur Balzan. The song was performed by Glen Vella. Cornald Maas is a Dutch television presenter who has been known for presenting talk shows in the Netherlands. He is the brother of Frans Maas. NAPOLI (russian: Наполи), is a Belarusian music project. NAPOLI was formed in 2012 in Minsk by Ilya Kravchuk, Ilona Muntyan and Olga Shimanskaya. Ilya Kravchuk died on 25 March 2014. NUTEKI is a Russian-Belarusian alternative metal band, which was formed in 2007. The band was founded by Mikhail Nokarashvili (lead vocals) and Kirill Matsiushenko (keyboards and programming), both of whom are originally from Bobruisk, Belarus.
