Chaukidanda
Chaukidanda is an administrative Headquarter of Salpasilichho Rural Municipality in Bhojpur District in the Province No. 1 of eastern Nepal. It is ward no.-3 too on newly formed Salpasilichho Rural Municipality in northern part of District. It is headquarter of Salpasilichho Rural Municipality. Many construction projects for municipality are underway. Land revenue office, hospitals, agricultural service centers are going to establish. Nabil Bank, "A" class bank in the country has its branch here which provides all banking facilities. Sankhuwa-sabha district lies in north of Chaukidanda. In east Kulung, in south Nepaledanda and Kudak kaule and in the west Khatamma local ward level body lies. Chaukidanda is trekking route to Khumbu area of Solukhumbu district from east Nepal. Salpasilichho
Salpasilichho ( ne, साल्पासिलिछो) is a rural municipality (गाउँपालिका) out of seven rural municipalities of Bhojpur District of Province No. 1 of Nepal. There are a total of 9 municipalities in Bhojpur in which 2 are urban and 7 are rural. According to MoFALD Salpasilichho has an area of and the total population of the municipality is 13, 111 as of Census of Nepal 2011. To form this new Rural Municipality Dobhane, Khatamma, Chaukidanda and Kulunga were merged, which previously were Village development committee (local level administrative villages). Fulfilling the requirement of the new Constitution of Nepal 2015, Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development replaced all old VDCs and Municipalities into 753 new local level body ( Municipality). Bhojpur District, Nepal
Bhojpur District ( ne, भोजपुर जिल्ला ) is one of 14 districts of Province No. 1 of eastern Nepal. The district's area is 1,507 km2 with a population of 182,459 (2011). The administrative center is Bhojpur. It is surrounded by Dhankuta and Sankhuwasabha in the east, Khotang in the west, again Sankhuwasabha in north-east and Solukhumbu in the north-west and Udayapur in the South. Etymology According to the District Coordination Committee Bhojpur, this place was named after '' Betula utilis'' - the Himalayan birch, which was found here in large quantities. Nepal Standard Time (NPT) is the time zone for Nepal. Digital Himalaya
The Digital Himalaya project was established in December 2000 by Mark Turin, Alan Macfarlane, Sara Shneiderman, and Sarah Harrison. The project's principal goal is to collect and preserve historical multimedia materials relating to the Himalaya, such as photographs, recordings, and journals, and make those resources available over the internet and offline, on external storage media. The project team have digitized older ethnographic collections and data sets that were deteriorating in their analogue formats, so as to protect them from deterioration and make them available and accessible to originating communities in the Himalayan region and a global community of scholars.
