Charlotte Hounds
The Charlotte Hounds were a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) field lacrosse franchise that began play in the 2012 MLL season and ceased operations after the 2018 season. The team played their home games at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Franchise history In January 2011 the MLL voted to grant expansion teams to Charlotte and Columbus, Ohio for the 2012 MLL Season. The team's first hire was Wade Leaphart, who was instrumental in establishing the team's identity, sales, marketing and operations, among other things. McPhilliamy and Leaphart launched a Name the Team Campaign, sponsored by OrthoCarolina, the official team physician of the Hounds, and was heavily run via social media – Facebook. First, fans pitched in ideas for the team name and location identity (Charlotte, Carolina, Queen City, etc.) Then, fans voted on the location ID, choosing Charlotte easily over Carolina. 2012 MLL Season
The 2012 Major League Lacrosse season is the 12th season of the league. The season began on April 28, 2012 and concluded with the Chesapeake Bayhawks winning the championship game on August 26, 2012 over the Denver Outlaws 16-6. 2016 MLL Season
The 2016 Major League Lacrosse season was the 16th season of Major League Lacrosse. The season featured 9 teams (all in the United States) after the addition of the Atlanta Blaze via expansion. It was the first season since 2008 that the league fielded more than eight teams. The defending champion New York Lizards are coming off their third Steinfeld Cup victory in franchise history and first since 2003 after defeating the Rochester Rattlers 15–12 August 8, 2015 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia. On August 20, the Denver Outlaws won their second Steinfeld Cup trophy in three years, coming back to defeat the Ohio Machine, 19–18. The 2016 season was a particularly unusual one. Going into the final week of the regular season, all four playoff spots were still up for grabs. In the end, seven teams finished at 8–6. 2015 MLL Season
The 2015 Major League Lacrosse season was the 16th season of FIL-sanctioned lacrosse in the United States and Canada, the 16th with a national first-division league, and the 15th season of Major League Lacrosse. The season featured 8 total clubs (all in the United States). The regular season was held from April 12 through July 25, with the semifinals on August 1 and the championship game on August 8 in Kennesaw, Georgia. The defending Steinfeld Cup champions are the Denver Outlaws, while the Rochester Rattlers finished as the runner-up. The season began on April 26, 2014 and concluded on August 23, 2014 with the Denver Outlaws beating the Rochester Rattlers to win the franchise's first Steinfeld Cup. Chesapeake Bayhawks
The Chesapeake Bayhawks were a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) professional men's field lacrosse team based in Annapolis, Maryland since 2010. They played in the greater Baltimore metro area beginning with the MLL's inaugural 2001 season, as the Baltimore Bayhawks from 2001–2006 and as the Washington Bayhawks from 2007–2009. They won six Steinfeld Cup titles, the most of any MLL franchise. Franchise history Early success The Bayhawks played two seasons at Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University, in 2001 and 2003, while they played at M&T Bank Stadium in downtown Baltimore in 2002. MUSC Health Stadium
MUSC Health Stadium was a soccer-specific stadium located in the Daniel Island area of Charleston, South Carolina that served as the home of the Charleston Battery of the USL Championship. Originally named Blackbaud Stadium, the stadium was opened in 1999. At the time, Blackbaud (along with Columbus Crew Stadium, which opened the same year) was the first modern-era stadium in the United States designed for soccer. The Atlanta Blaze were a professional men's field lacrosse team in Major League Lacrosse (MLL). The Blaze became the ninth team in MLL as an expansion team for the 2016 Major League Lacrosse season, 2016 season and played its home games at Atlanta Silverbacks Park in Atlanta, Georgia. 2018 Charlotte Hounds Season
The 2018 Charlotte Hounds season was the seventh season for the Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse. The Hounds started the season 4-0 for the first time in franchise history, highlighted by a 25-7 Week 1 mauling over the Boston Cannons and two victories over the defending champion Ohio Machine. However, the Hounds struggled to the finish line, finishing at 7-7 and being eliminated from the playoffs in the penultimate week of the regular season. For the second season in a row, the Hounds finished last in attendance at 1,364 fans a game. In 2017, the Hounds posted the league's worst attendance for the first time in franchise history at just under 1,600 a game. Matt Rambo
Matt Rambo (born July 25, 1994) is a professional lacrosse attackman for the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League from Glenside, Pennsylvania. He played college lacrosse at Maryland. College career Rambo spent four years at the University of Maryland, where he only missed one start his entire career, and reached the final four every year and the championship game in his final three years. Freshman year In Rambo's first game at Maryland, he scored four goals against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers. He ended the season with 30 goals and six assists. Sophomore year As a sophomore, Rambo played in the only game that he didn't not start in his entire college lacrosse career.
