Charlie Kent Woerner (born October 16, 1997) is an American football tight end for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Georgia, and was drafted by the 49ers in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. College career After playing at Rabun County High School, Woerner played at Georgia, where he was held in high regard as one of the best blocking tight ends in the NCAA. Professional career Woerner was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round with the 190th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The 49ers previously acquired this pick after trading wide receiver Marquise Goodwin to the Philadelphia Eagles. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Marquise Goodwin
Marquise Derell Goodwin (born November 19, 1990) is an American football wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He also is an Olympic Games, Olympian who competed in the long jump in track and field. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the third round with the 78th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas Longhorns football, Texas. In track and field, his specialty is the long jump, an event in which he won two national college championships. Goodwin represented the United States at the 2008 IAAF World junior championships, the 2011 World University games, the 2011 IAAF World Championships, the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the 2015 Pan American Games, where he won silver. Scott Woerner
Scott Allison Woerner (born December 18, 1958) is a former American football safety in the National Football League (NFL) for the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints. He played college football for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. In the 1981 Sugar Bowl, Woerner intercepted a pass by the Notre Dame quarterback in the closing minutes of the game which sealed Georgia's national championship for that year. He still holds several return records at the University of Georgia. He had the most kickoff return yards (190) in a single game (vs. Kentucky, 1977). He also holds the most punt return yards (488) in a season (1980). Woerner was drafted in the third round of the 1981 NFL Draft by the Falcons. He played for the Atlanta Falcons during that 1981 season and was their leading punt returner. The Falcons cut him before the start of the 1982 season. 2020 NFL Draft
The 2020 NFL Draft was the 85th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2020 NFL season.
