Charlie Warren
Charles Christopher Morel Warren (born 11 March 1979) is an Irish former first-class cricketer. Warren was born at Portadown in Northern Ireland in March 1979. He later studied for his degree in England at Worcester College, Oxford. While studying at Oxford, Warren played first-class cricket. He made his debut for an Oxford Universities side, making three first-class appearances in 2000. The Oxford Universities team was a forerunner to Oxford UCCE which was formed the following year, with Warren subsequently representing Oxford UCCE in three first-class matches, with two appearances in 2001 and a single appearance in 2002. He also made two first-class appearances for Oxford University against Cambridge University in The University Matches of 2001 and 2002. Portadown
Portadown () is a town in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The town sits on the River Bann in the north of the county, about southwest of Belfast. It is in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area and had a population of about 22,000 at the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 Census. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket.
