Charlie Mathers
Charles Mathers (second ¼ 1860 – 1926) was an English rugby union footballer who played in the 1880s. He played at representative level for British and Irish Lions, British Isles and Yorkshire Rugby Football Union, Yorkshire, and at club level for Bramley RLFC, Bramley, as a Rugby union positions#Forwards, forward. Prior to Tuesday 2 June 1896, Bramley were a rugby union club. Background Charles Mathers' birth was registered in Hunslet, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Playing career Charlie Mathers won Cap (sport), cap(s) for British and Irish Lions, British Isles while at Bramley on the 1888 British Lions tour to New Zealand and Australia. Hunslet
Hunslet () is an inner-city area in south Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is southeast of the Leeds city centre, city centre and has an industrial past. It is situated in the Hunslet and Riverside (ward), Hunslet and Riverside ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds Central (UK Parliament constituency), Leeds Central parliamentary constituency. Many railway locomotives were built in the Jack Lane area of Hunslet.
