Charlie Cotton
Charlie Cotton is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', played by Christopher Hancock. Charlie is a recurring character, introduced in March 1986 as the estranged husband of Dot Cotton (June Brown). He appears in stints until producers made the decision to kill the character off-screen in 1991 in order to aid development of characters connected to him. June Brown, who plays Dot, was openly against the killing of Charlie. Charlie appears one last time in the October 2000 spin-off, ''Return of Nick Cotton'', as an apparition, warning his son Nick ( John Altman) to change his ways. Christopher Hancock
Christopher Anthony Arthur Hancock (5 June 1928 – 29 September 2004) was a British television and theatre actor. He was born in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, England. His brother was actor Stephen Hancock. He and his brother trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He was married to Ann Walford; the couple had two daughters before divorcing. Hancock began acting in the theatre in the 1960s and he had roles in plays such as ''Richard II'' and ''Measure for Measure'' (both 1965) and the musical ''Billy'' (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, 1974). He was then best known for playing conman Charlie Cotton in the popular BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' from 1986 until 1990. His character was killed off in July 1991 but his death was not shown on-screen. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Dot Branning
Dorothy "Dot" Branning (also Cotton) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera, '' EastEnders'', played by June Brown. In a special episode entitled ''EastEnders: Dot's Story'' (2003) a young Dot was played by Tallulah Pitt-Brown in flashbacks. A tragicomic character, Dot was known for her devout Christian faith, gossiping, chain smoking, hypochondria, and motherly attitude to those in need. Dot first appeared in ''EastEnders'' in July 1985 as the mother of notorious criminal and original character Nick Cotton ( John Altman). Frankie Fitzgerald
Frankie Fitzgerald (born 28 April 1985, in South London) is an English actor, best known for his role as Nick Cotton's son Ashley in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Career Fitzgerald trained at The Webber Douglas Academy of Performing Arts, completing his three-year course in 2006. His career started much earlier, however, when he landed his first professional role at the age of 15. He played Ashley Cotton in ''EastEnders'' from 2000 to 2001 and since has appeared as Jason Porter, the main character of the final series of the drama ''Dream Team'' on Sky1. In media, a spin-off (or spinoff) is a radio program, television program, film, video game or any narrative work, derived from already existing works that focus on more details and different aspects from the original work (e.g. particular topics, characters or events). Gary Webster (actor)
Gary John Webster (born 3 February 1964 in Whitechapel, east London) is an English actor. Webster's first major TV role was in ''EastEnders'' playing Graham Clark from 1987 until 1988. He later became better known for playing Ray Daley in the television series ''Minder'', replacing Dennis Waterman as George Cole's on-screen sparring partner in the series. Webster joined the series in 1991 and remained until its conclusion in 1994. Subsequent to this Webster took roles in soap operas. He made a brief appearance in ''Hollyoaks'' as Dion in 2001, and in ''Crossroads'' as Richard Mason the same year. Polly Perkins
Polly Perkins (born Gillian Nessie Arnold, 31 May 1943) is a British actress, singer and writer. Perkins rose to fame in the 1960s as a popstar, going on to regularly appear in theatre and cabaret throughout the UK. She is known for playing Rose Cotton, the half-sister of Dot Cotton (June Brown), in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' between 2011 and 2012.
