Christopher Hancock
Christopher Anthony Arthur Hancock (5 June 1928 – 29 September 2004) was a British television and theatre actor. He was born in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, England. His brother was actor Stephen Hancock. He and his brother trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He was married to Ann Walford; the couple had two daughters before divorcing. Hancock began acting in the theatre in the 1960s and he had roles in plays such as ''Richard II'' and ''Measure for Measure'' (both 1965) and the musical ''Billy'' (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, 1974). He was then best known for playing conman Charlie Cotton in the popular BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' from 1986 until 1990. His character was killed off in July 1991 but his death was not shown on-screen. Charlie Cotton
Charlie Cotton is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', played by Christopher Hancock. Charlie is a recurring character, introduced in March 1986 as the estranged husband of Dot Cotton (June Brown). He appears in stints until producers made the decision to kill the character off-screen in 1991 in order to aid development of characters connected to him. June Brown, who plays Dot, was openly against the killing of Charlie. Charlie appears one last time in the October 2000 spin-off, ''Return of Nick Cotton'', as an apparition, warning his son Nick ( John Altman) to change his ways. The Bill
''The Bill'' is a British police procedural television series, first broadcast on ITV from 16 August 1983 until 31 August 2010. The programme originated from a one-off drama, '' Woodentop'', broadcast in August 1983. The programme focused on the lives and work of one shift of police officers, rather than on any particular aspect of police work. ''The Bill'' was the longest-running police procedural television series in the United Kingdom, and among the longest running of any British television series at the time of its cancellation. The title originates from "Old Bill", a slang term for the police. Although highly acclaimed by fans and critics, the series attracted controversy on several occasions. An episode broadcast in 2008 was criticised for featuring fictional treatment for multiple sclerosis. ''Casualty'' (stylised as ''CASUAL+Y'') is a British medical drama series that airs weekly on BBC One. Created by Jeremy Brock and Paul Unwin, it was first broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC One on 6 September 1986. The original producer was Geraint Morris. ''Little Dorrit'' is a 1987 film adaptation of the 1857 novel ''Little Dorrit'' by Charles Dickens. It was written and directed by Christine Edzard, and produced by John Brabourne and Richard B. Goodwin. The music by Giuseppe Verdi was arranged by Michael Sanvoisin. The film stars Derek Jacobi as Arthur Clennam, Alec Guinness as William Dorrit, and Sarah Pickering in the title role.
