Charles Vaillancourt (born September 18, 1992) is a former Canadian football offensive lineman. He was selected in the first round and fifth overall by the Lions in the 2016 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 25, 2016. Coaticook () is a town on the Coaticook River in southeastern Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of the Coaticook Regional County Municipality, and its southern border is also the Canada–United States border. The BC Lions are a professional Canadian football team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Vanier Cup (french: Coupe Vanier) is the championship of Canadian university football. It is organized by U Sports football and is currently played between the winners of the Uteck Bowl and the Mitchell Bowl. It is named after Georges Vanier, the former governor general of Canada and was first awarded in 1965 to the winner of an invitational event contested between two teams that were selected by a panel. In 1967, the trophy was declared the official "CIAU National Football Championship" and a playoff system was instituted. From its creation until 1982, it was known as the Canadian College Bowl. The 2012 Vanier Cup, the 48th edition of the Canadian university football championship, took place on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The game featured a rematch of the previous year's Vanier Cup game as the McMaster Marauders attempted to become repeat champions against the Laval Rouge et Or. This was the second time (after 1976-1977) in Vanier Cup history that the same two teams played each other in consecutive years. The Vanier Cup was played on the same weekend it hosted the 100th Grey Cup and was part of the week-long festivities that were planned for the event. This marked the second consecutive year that the two games were played in the same city on the same weekend; after the 47th Vanier Cup and 99th Grey Cup were played in Vancouver. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. 2016 CFL Draft
The 2016 CFL Draft took place on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 7:00 PM ET on TSN2 and RDS2. 70 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The draft was expanded to eight rounds, which is the most since there were eight rounds in the 1992 CFL Draft. This draft also featured the most draft selections since 1987 when 72 players were drafted. The entity which owns both TSN2 and RDS2 showed the first round of the draft on its cable TV platforms with subsequent rounds streamed on TSN GO online. U Sports football is the highest level of amateur play of Canadian football and operates under the auspices of U Sports (formerly Canadian Interuniversity Sport).
