Charles Le Moyne (actor)
Charles Le Moyne (June 27, 1880 – September 13, 1956) was an American motion picture actor of the silent era. He appeared in 73 films between 1915 and 1937. Biography He was born Carl Jonathan Lemon at Marshall, Illinois, on June 27, 1880, the son of Charles and Clara (née Martin) Lemon. Charles Lemon was a stonemason who later moved his family to Los Angeles where he worked as a railroad conductor. Le Moyne was a favorite of actor/director Harry Carey, who once said that if Le Moyne was ever not available to play the heavy in one of his films, he would rather postpone production until the actor became free. Harry Carey (actor)
Henry DeWitt Carey II (January 16, 1878 – September 21, 1947) was an American actor and one of silent film's earliest superstars, usually cast as a Western hero. One of his best known performances is as the president of the United States Senate in the drama film '' Mr. Smith Goes to Washington'' (1939), for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He was the father of Harry Carey Jr., who was also a prominent actor. Early life Carey was born in the Bronx, New York, a son of Henry DeWitt Carey (a newspaper source gives the actor's name as "Harry DeWitt Carey II"). a prominent lawyer and judge of the New York Supreme Court, and his wife Ella J. ''Canyon of the Fools'' is a 1923 American silent Western film directed by Val Paul and starring Harry Carey that was released by Film Booking Offices of America (F.B.O.). Plot As described in a film magazine, Robert McCarthy (Carey) beats his way on a passenger train to a mining camp located near an unexplored waste called the Canyon of the Fools. En route he discovers that his former sweetheart May (Clayton) is on the train, having promised to marry Jim Harper (Stanton) whom she is to meet at the camp.
